If you do your research on how pot originally became illegal…its really messed up. Blatant lies were told to congress by people who profited over pot being illegal, and with no other research to disprove the lies, it was carried out like it has.

We’ve changed or gotten the Legislatures of 17 States and DC to implement medicinal cannabis patient protection laws, got California to finally decriminalize petty possession in 2011, Massachussetts in 2008, overturned a re-criminalization law in Oregon in 1998, oh never mind, I don’t have time to list all of the things we’ve accomplished in changing this idiotic law but it’s extensive, and dates back to Oregon’s decrim of petty possession in 1973.

By the way, prohibition got overturned because of the money it brought. They realized there was a high demand of alcoholics that would pay a price for a stupor of a drug. Marijuana on the other hand can be home grown and THAT is what keeps it illegal.

The other reason why prohibition was overturned is that the money spent on moonshine/import booze directly funded criminal organizations. Watch Boardwalk Empire for example, not saying it is a factual example. After they released the “if you smoke pot you support terrorists” ad I wondered why they wouldn’t make it illegal.

I do agree they should tax the hell out of it too. I mean the $1 dollar tax on tobacco that would fund cancer research is a great idea. That would provide an insane amount of funding for a wonderful cause. The same could be said about doing it with marijuana.

People might complain, but I don’t really feel bad for taxing a product which anyone can grow. If they placed a $10 tax on tomatoes would anyone buy them in the store?

i know numerous doctors, lawyers and business owners who habitually use marijuana who would disagree with you on that.

I would assume a player could get a prescription – at which point wouldn’t that become a private medical matter?

And as long as the organization is fine with it, why should Roger Goodell be telling doctors what they can and can’t prescribe within the law?

Quickly, think of all the countries in the world where pot is legal and could be smoked in front of your local police station without fear of arrest…

On the bright side, I’m 30 and I know a lot of smokers…so hopefully in 10 to 20 years we will complete legalization at the federal level
