That’s what I was tryin to say about the Pro Bowl. You had stated he made it three times in a row, but he only actually made it last season, not that he didn’t deserve to go a few more times before that. And if it was because they needed to send an o-lineman, then Clady was the only choice cause the rest of our line is green, with the exception of Kup. Hopefully the rest of the line can progress and get better, especially at C.

But otherwise, completely agree…Iron Clady is a beast, no doubt. I wonder if he makes the Top 100? If Tebow made it, Clady has got to have a spot.

As a Raiders fan, this strikes me as similar to what Al (RIP) used to do: Pay an OK player like a superstar, and then assume he’ll play like one.

The second sentence in this article is covering for Silva’s ignorant article. The current Broncos management is well aware of Clady’s performance and the circumstances that have factored into the “increased sack totals”. They are able to go beyond one degree of analysis and see deeper.

Clady is a great athlete who has overcome injury and playing in a circus atmosphere the last two seasons and it is a smart move to get him locked up now, while his market value is lower. Left Tackles of his ability do not exactly grow on trees.

Probably a really good strategy honestly.

Three reasons why the Broncos dismiss his higher sack totals of the last 3 years

1) Two years ago, Clady was recovering from an MCL injury.

2) Same year, Orton became starting QB. Long known as being a statue in the pocket, Orton locked onto Brandon Lloyd and almost never checked down to other receivers which resulted in sacks.

#3 One year ago, after Orton lead the team to a 1-4 start, Tebow takes over. For three quarters of every game that followed, Tebow would run around in circles, avoid stepping up in the pocket, and never check-down to open receivers. Which resulted in… you guessed it, sacks.

People are going to try and poke holes in the idea that this Bronco team might very well be the most talented team Peyton Manning has ever been on.
