Broncos sign another draft pick

If it’s a business day, the Broncos are going to sign a draft pick.

That’s the way it seems, anyway. The Broncos announced Tuesday that they have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with linebacker Danny Trevathan. The sixth-rounder is the fourth pick to sign with the team and the signings have come on the last four weekdays.

Trevathan made a ton of tackles at Kentucky, but his size could keep him from filling a similar role in Denver. He’s just 6’0″ and 237 pounds, a bit small for an every down role although his motor and competitiveness will mean that he puts up a good fight for one. Special teams figures to be his ticket to the final roster and his ticket to getting a shot at anything more than that as his career unfolds.

Trevathan gives the Broncos four draft picks under contract. There are three draftees still unsigned as the team continues their Organized Team Activities.

Tackling machine at Kentucky. Hell make the roster as a special teamer and probably get some playing time of injuries happen.

He’s in a young line backing core, I hope he can produce and earn a spot as a Bronco.

    Go Broncos!

Broncos had the most “names you’ve never heard of” guys drafted I’ve ever seen. Not to knock this kid, but Elway is yet to prove he’s any better than McDbag in the draft department.

So many hang ups about size. Trevathan is a stud.

Really because you haven’t heard of the draft picks mean Elway hasn’t proved anything. First he got the biggest name in free agency along with manyer players to fill in at needed positions. Sometimes your free agency won’t be filledwith big names. If you fill the needs in free agency you can move around the draft to fill depth and other area. But to say he hasn’t done anything because you don’t know the names is crazy.

Another former Kentucky backer is also on the Broncos, a converted safety named Wesley Woodyard.

He led the team in tackles. So I’m hoping we can see something similar in Danny.

Elway wise they pretty much had a no brainer pick last year with the no 2 pick in miller who trailed off toward end of season, all other picks made last year…sucked. This year they trade back twice in first round got what two extra 4th round picks??? Most teams would got more. And he landed the biggest name in free angency yes, becuase they offered him the best contract for greedy forehead. So a team in win now mode also took a project qb in the second…seems legit.
