Exactly how many Super Bowls had been played in New Orleans prior to Katrina? One or two? One or two too many, I say. I’ve been there, dude. It sucks, and everybody I know agrees. The only reason you guys get these events is because the NFL feels sorry that you live in a FEMA outhouse and want to make you feel better about yourself and your morbid franchise (‘Aint’s). Exhibit 1 – You alienate your franchise player because your owner ridiculous owner won’t come off a measly 3 million dollars! You folks should be ashamed of yourselves, because once Brees is gone, your franchise goes into the tank again for another 30 years while Cam Newton dominates your butts for the next 15 years! Get some.

I totally agree. That’s fine, NO can host big events. But, people are tired of traveling to that crime-ridden, rif-raff infested town to try and enjoy a sporting event with their family. I think the people of Louisiana have had enough help from the NCAA and NFL, revitalizing their tourism or whatever the hell they are trying to do. Put these events in a great city like Orlando, Los Angeles, or Charlotte (my hometown, we are starving for help with our tourism and could use the economic boom that comes with a Super Bowl.) Do that instead of letting New Orleans get all the love. So what they got hit by a hurricane. So did we in Charlotte when Hugo came through in the 80′s. We didn’t get any Super Bowl or Final Fours. Whats up with that?

Look I understand you’re jealous, you probably come from an uncultured boring city that no one wants to visit. You probably haven’t even been to New Orleans.
There are two kinds of people in this world, New Orleans people and Las Vegas people. People who love New Orleans love authentic and genuine. People who love Las Vegas love manufactured and generic.

Or better yet, reduce all-star numbers and have those who want to play, play against the Canadian Football League all-stars. I bet the CFL guys would go out there with a chip on their shoulders.

Meanwhile, the NFL should refund everyone who attended the game in Hawaii last January, including the city of Honolulu. They deserved better. That glorified “love-fest” was worse than a touch football game. And keep the game in Hawaii. That’s what make it exciting.

Oh yes, definitely getting the pro bowl means God-Dell loves us. Now that this might happen I will accept the fines and penalties we have been given without them showing any proof whatsoever that we did what they said. Especially since all of the information coming out recently that sheds some doubt that Roger has the information that he states he has.

First, I’m for an 18-game schedule. This means you have your home-and-home with your division opponents, and you play everyone in 1 division of the opposite conference, and everyone in 2 of the 3 remaining divisions in your conference.

To address safety and the grind of 2 extra games, expand the rosters to 60, all of which can be dressed on game day. Have 3 injured reserve lists – 15-day, 42-day, and rest of season. No one on any injured lists counts against the 60-man roster.

Start the season the second week of September as we do now. Everyone plays 9 games in a row, then play the Pro Bowl the second week of November. Then there is no NFL for the third week in November. Then, Thanksgiving Day kicks off week 10. Everyone plays 9 weeks in a row, ending the season the third week in January. Have your 3 weeks of conference playoffs, and the Super Bowl two weeks after conference championships, which means the Super Bowl is played the last Sunday in February.

This gives everyone a week or 2 off halfway through the schedule, plays the Pro Bowl in the middle of the season like all other sports, having 60 players available instead of 45 decreases injury risk – as does the 3-tiered IR, every team in each division plays the exact same opponents, the open week the weekend before Thanksgiving is rivalry weekend in college football, so we still get our football fix.

And I agree with others – increase the Pro Bowl payoff, with a large discrepancy between winners and losers.

why would the new nfl want to cancel the pro bowl…intelligent football decisions are made on every play in that game. non contact program developed by nfl is embraced by the players enthusiastically and funded by the nfl.
