Initially I wasn't thrilled with the Benjamin pick but if either he or Saffold can hold up physically they could really stretch the field and open things up in the short and intermediate game for Little, Momass, and the tight ends. Do not discount Norwood as he is the only wideout besides Cribbs who has shown the ability to gain yards after the catch.
If the offensive line improves, the running game is better and Weeden's arm opens up the field then the receivers will likely be better by association.

You've got to take these sorts of comments with Shurmur with a large grain of salt. Remember, he was praising Colt McCoy effusively right before the draft. Then the team drafted McCoy's replacement.

The WR corps is the weakest part of the Browns' roster, and everybody knows it. Talking up these guys is understandable, but it doesn't make them any better. Little and Massaquoi are young, so they might take a step forward this year, but neither one has high-end potential. At some point a true #1 receiver is needed, but this year the Browns elected to use their high picks on an RB and a QB. They'll look for a #1 WR some other time. Meanwhile they have no choice but to talk up the guys they've got.

The fact that we have a QB that can actually throw the ball will help. Same goes for T Rich.

Defenses will eventually have to respect the run and it will open up the passing game.
