Getty ImagesPatriots quarterback Tom Brady has at his disposal tight end Rob Gronkowski. Now, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has a Gronk of his own.
Per a league source, the Colts are in the process of trading fullback Chris Gronkowski to the Broncos. It’s believed that a player is being sent to Indy in return, but it’s not yet known who the player is.
Chris Gronkiowski appeared in 14 games, starting seven, for the Cowboys in 2010. He appeared in seven for the Colts in 2011.
Though on the same roster in Indy last year, Chris Gronkowski and Peyton Manning have never suited up together. Gronkowski wore No. 44 in Dallas, which means at the most superficial level possible that the Broncos could try to groom him into a Dallas Clark-type player for Manning.
“Try” is about as far as that would get, genetics notwithstanding.
UPDATE 1:19 p.m. ET: The Broncos have announced the trade. They shipped cornerback Cassius Vaughn to the Colts in exchange for Gronkowski.

Fullbacks are gonna come back. More so of an H back though. Look for big guys coming out of the back field for passes and being motioned out of the backfield into a Dallas Clark type spot.
Chris and Dan want you to know that Rob is no longer considered a “Gronk”. Within the family he is now referred to as “Grunt”, or “Drunk”.
There are plenty of Gronk’s to go around but only one that’s really good.
Another gronk, what happened to the first one denver had? Well if he’s anything like NE gronk talent wise, what a deal for the broncos. I wonder what player they’re giving away.
I though FBs were extinct, maybe the broncos will convert him into TE. We’ll see but one gronk didn’t work out so let’s hope gronk 2 fits better
Indy got CB Casius Vaughn in return for Gronk
His momma called him Vaughn, I’mma call him Vaughn.
The only thing I know about Cassius Vaughn is that some guy drafted him in the 15th round in last years Fantasy Football season. Before that I’d never heard of him.
Cassius Vaughn is who they traded
The player sent to Indy is Cassius Vaughn, a corner back who was undrafted in 2010.

He’s with the Browns. He spent part of last season with the Pats after the Broncos released him.
They face brother Rob in week 5. Then brother Dan (if he’s still with the team) in week 16, two days before Christmas.
No, he won’t be a TE. He’ll be a blocking FB, clearing holes for McGahee and Hillman. The Broncos will use some two back sets, and the only FB on the roster was Austin Sylvester, who’s not a great blocker. Cassius Vaughn was unlikely to make the team with Bailey, Florence, Porter, Harris, and Bolden. Judie will be the sixth if they carry that many, or the fifth if there’s an injury in camp. Good move.
I said don’t feel so all alone
I found a Gronk of my own
Hope he doesn’t miss an assignment and get his QB killed like he did i Dallas. Good luck
Denver making some slick moves.
This is the same Gronk that missed his blocking assignment, causing Tony Romo to suffer a broken collarbone. He was subsequently released.
Good luck, Peyton!
Rob is “Gronk”. Chris is just “Chris”. And neither of them are “Gronkiowski”.
He’ll be a 59 on Madden 13.
you already had TEbow for a fullback!
Smart move by Denver the old man(Manning) is going to need all the protection he can get.
I forgot about Syd’Quan Thompson. They’re still going to have to cut a couple cornerbacks before the season starts. Vaughn’s chances of making the roster were nearly non-existent.
It’d be awesome if Gronk came out. Lots of people would need to challenge themselves.
Who cares?
The FB is not dead. Just ask my boy Vonta Leach. Layin wood to LBs on a weekly basis.

Of course he’s just “Gronk” in NE…but only because none of you dimwitted Pats fans can spell his last name right.
If I remember correctly, the Browns actually signed Dan Gronkowski to a two-year deal with only a game or two left in the season. Due to the success Rob’s had, I’m interested to see what Dan can do, but I don’t know if he’ll make the final cut.
Vaughn was the fastest guy on the team until he got injured last year…
Peyton might get his neck “Gronkulated” the way Corky II fixed Romo’s collarbone by blowing that block. If I was Peyton I would be ordering one of those Captain Pike wheel chairs with the blinking light.
hey at least my colts got another cornerback, not sure if hes any good, i seen that he returns kickoffs last year
