Of course Moss has been unbelievable. He’s had a year off and it’s training camp at a new team. The big knock on Moss is that he disappears half way through the season and that was true even in NE. I’m sure he’ll be great in the first two maybe three games. Let’s see how he does after game six or eight.

Hilarious, somebody on this thread commented that Perrish Cox has upgraded the Niners D. Randy Moss will only scare police officers in cruisers, team catering operations, and the ladies when him and Perrish hit the clubs! I can only hope that we get the two ring circus of the Jets and Niners for Hard Knocks.

Moss was like that early in his career in Minnesota too.

For 49 fans, I wouldn’t get too excited just yet. As soon as a team faces adversity or Randy isn’t getting the ball enough, he’ll be the first one to bail on the team and his teammates.

I do hope he’s turned over a new leaf though. If he has, I wish him the best.

It’s not unusual for someone with great talent (physical, artistic, etc.) to be a one-of-a-kind personality, too. Moss is like that. Talent-wise, Moss is the #1 WR of all time. Even Jerry Rice admitted that in recent comments he made.

When Randy was in Oakland, he had no real QB and we saw how that turned out. Now he’s with another team that has no QB and Moss will fade away by week #4 of the season. Because he’ll realize that Alex Smith is a bum.

Randy should have waited and hooked up with a team that had a real QB. He’s going to end his career with one big, loud THUD!

Alex Smith and the 49ers receivers will be a middle of the road team statistically. But 3rd down efficiency/redzone efficiency is where there should be a marked improvement. They won’t be able to improve on their 13-3 record, because their schedule is much tougher this year. But this team has made improvements on offense(draft picks) and defense(Perish Cox and they lost no defensive starters)

Personally I could not believe what a POS he is down to his core. I won’t be surprised a bit if Moss has a big year for SF. He’s a singular talent and he has the capacity to make Smith and the other receivers better. As always with Randy, the key is whether or not he’s mentally engaged. I see no reason why he wouldn’t be for this one season. After that, all bets are off.

Moss has, at times, flat-out quit on his team. When things are going well, it’s not a problem. But once the losses mount and the passes are sailing over his head or not coming his way at all, Moss will disappear before his teammates’ eyes, fading into the background at best, creating problems in the locker room at worst.

See that’s just it…this is what everyone thought…he just hates losing, blah blah blah. The Pats were a good, competitive team every single year he was there. He got plenty of looks in the passing game and had a great QB throwing to him and great coaching. And he STILL quit on them and complained about his money. The truth is, the guy is just a complicated person and not easily figured out as far as what makes him go into his little shell. I think he knows himself best: “I play when I want to play”. As to when exactly that is? No one knows but Randy. And that is why he’s never stayed with one team for too long.

I’m sure he does, wait till the pads are on and ask him to run a route across the middle. Let me know how he looks then. Oh, he can only run straight down the field and won’t sacrifice his body for the team. I’ve said this before, and stand by my words, no team with Randy Moss will ever win a championship. He is a great talent, maybe the greatest WR of all time (if he would have tried every play/game). However he is a festering cancer in the locker room, you can’t see it now, as it takes time to grow, but believe me it’s there, you will see.

The above statement is the most idiot statement ever written…….#1 what does running across the middle prove?…..would YOU as a coach ask Brady, Brees, or Manning to run a naked bootleg on the 50 yard line and and not slide, or go out of bounds?…..So you’re saying if he goes across the middle, get’s hurt and is of no value to the team, you would consider him a success?….Glad you’re not a coach………Randy Moss is a thoroughbred receiver. A COACH knows that. You do not ask a thoroughbred horse to wear a bonnet, pull an ice cream cart and expect him to be happy….If there is a smart Off Coord on that 49er staff, he would be wise to put Moss in position to be successful which in turn makes the whole team successful..

you need to be paying a little more attention in science class, boy. it’s an interesting hypothesis to suggest that because the experiment worked once, it’ll work again. in this second test, however, you need to be reminded that the variables have changed. adding the tom brady formula to the equation the first time around resulted in a powerful explosion. now, adding the alex smith formula to the equation . . . well, you might as well just pee in your erlenmeyer flask.
