I don’t see any Packer rubes posting anything unlike the Cryking fans with “winning team envy”..why are u even posting about the Packers on a Lion page..and why would the Packer fans blame the Vikings when all the Viking fans do is blame everyone else?T he commissioner, the saints the refs, the Packers the Packers fans, Bush ,Obama, osama bin laden..God, Satan…EVERYONE is to blame for the Crykings being losers except the Crykings themselves..go cry with paul allen.

I have lost all faith in Fairley after this latest screw up.
But before you all start trashing the Lions take a look at the number of arrests YOUR team has since the year 2000:

Vikings – 38 arrests
Packers – 17
Bears – 21
Lions – 12

Are those JUST arrests? Or arrests AND convictions?

I can’t speak for the other teams, but I can say this about the Bears, at least:

For 21 arrests, you probably have 21 EX-Bears.

(Tank Johnson, Cedric Benson, Sam Hurd, etc.)

In other words, a proud, respectable, honorable and well-meaning franchise like the Bears — one which values tradition, character, and reputation — actually makes an EFFORT to draft players with good character.

That’s not to say they don’t believe in or give second chances (Brandon Marshall, both Tank and Benson were given 2nd chances), but a team like the Bears doesn’t IGNORE (and by ignoring, condone) such lousy classless criminal character.

A team like the Lions, on the other hand — doesn’t even ATTEMPT to factor in character when drafting; they just don’t give a rip, because it’s about the talent and the talent ONLY.
(The Vikings and Cowboys have been similar in recent years).

A franchise that cultivates a climate of scumbaggery (starting with Schwartz and Suh) and actively drafts players IN SPITE of their obvious character flaws will ultimately get exactly what it deserves. Trouble.

You can sell your soul to the Devil, but it won’t get you to the promised land (Super Bowl).

It’s more of a reflection on the individual and the Detroit Lions and the character of their organization.

As far as the city of Detroit goes, DUI’s are the least of the problem there and in a lot of other big cities.

Also, get the hell out of Alabama.

Perhaps if Barry were HALF the team player, he would have blocked and spared his qb’s a few injuries/gave them time to block.

Perhaps if Barry weren’t a quitter, he would have stayed to help Detroit become competitive and win a ring?

Perhaps if Barry didn’t spend all his time dancing and complaining, he’d maybe have a few rings like Emmitt?

Emmitt is the all time rushing king. He’s a 3 time Super Bowl Champion (all 3 achieved during Barry’s prime in the league).

Barry was the dancing king on the field. Emmitt waited until he was retired to work toward becoming a star dancer.

… I will give Barry a pass on the 3 rings though. His team would have had to beat Emmitt’s in the NFC championship, and with Emmitt being a COMPLETE player, it would not have happened.

@billhicks…please stop. It’s not Emmitt’s fault Barry ran backwards half the time. Couldn’t catch, couldn’t block, couldn’t make his team a winner. Emmitt is the all time rushing king and worlds better player than Barry. Choke on that.

This is sad for him, family, friends, and the Lions organization.

I hope he can turn it around. For himself.

Maybe he did this deliberately on advice of his agent. If he gets a four game suspension, he gets more time to get the fat off???? Who knows.
Obviously his mind set isn’t on football and winning.
