No one knows but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this guy contribute in a big way this year. He really could’ve/should’ve been on the field last year but out of Belichick (and Brady’s) allegiance to Kevin Faulk, they gave him one more post-ACL opportunity. Unfortunately Faulk had little left.
Vereen was clearly the younger, faster, more explosive RB and would’ve helped N.E. last year.

I like Woodhead as much as the next guy… but the first time time he is flattened by a rushing linebacker who then flattens Brady, you’d be changing your story.

Pats offense was severely one dimensional last year, and I don’t mean JUST that it was pass heavy..I mean the ONLY great part of their O was the middle passing game. It made them much easier to defend and being easy to defend kills you in the playoffs with better defenses. That’s one reason I want them to be more balanced and use ball control running. It will help the defense too, which has been horrendous on third down for about 5 years.

Everyone kept praising Ben Jarvius for not fumbling and loving Woodhead. Both were decent. But a featured back would help this team big time. How we all forgot Corey Dillion. Running and defense in December people. A la, sometimes recievers drop passes. Sorry Wes.

Yes, prayer is totally necessary after Brady’s decline in numbers last year…oh wait, that’s right, he threw for more yards than any QB except one, ever had before.

The depth at each position varies from team to team, a complete package RB would be wasted on the Pats because they aren’t even remotely a run first, or second, offense. Running game by committee with 4 backs who have different strengths is far cheaper in the long run, than someone like Ray Rice.

If he can keep his legs under him he’ll do well.

He had 31 bench reps at the 2011 Combine and ran a 4.49 40.

We don’t know this kid yet. He was never on the field last year. Hope he’s 100% healthy now, can stay healthy and finally give us a look as to what he’s got to offer. Good luck kid.

Not sure what Reed’s got left, great player that he’s been. Rice has been a great back, although Balti’s dependence on him has hurt that offense, IMO. No team depends on just one back to give them everything anymore. Even Balti had McGahee, McClain, RWilliams etc over the last few yrs. In the same vein as Welker, I wouldn’t pay Rice long term.

Ray Rice (and Ed Reed) would basically make the Patriots unbeatable. While the Ravens may have lost, Rice is still a legitimate complete feature back.

For helping your fantasy team, Patriot RB’s are not the way to go.

For helping the Patriots actually win meaningful football games, their RB’s will serve them well.
