Funny how rivals, Steeler fans mostly, want to point out all the flaws reported in the news as critical that will destroy the team. EVERY team has issues. Let’s not forget the “issues” reported between Ben and OC, or Wallace likely will hold out, or no depth at running back, or the loss of key defense players or the youth at O line which can be a problem. You could also say those are Steeler team critical issues. Truth is they are problems but perennial contenders know how to manage through problems. We should be focusing on Bengals – that’s the sleeper in AFCN that scares me.

Some facts:

Reed is getting older and is moaning about not playing already.

Lewis is getting older and had a big injury late last season.

Suggs is out.

Rice is not signed to a LT contract.

Flaccid is the self-proclaimed best QB in the league, and who constantly needs his coach to stroke his ego.

Sounds like some trouble in Ravens land at very key positions, no matter how you want to try to sugarcoat it.

Hey, ravenmuscle, the Steelers got alot younger over the off-season. Polamalu will be there, where will Ed Reed be? I’ll still take Big Ben over Joe Flacco any day. Andy Dalton is the real deal – believe it! Without Ed Reed, Ray Rice and Terrell Suggs out, the only thing the Ravens will destroy is their reputation.

Running backs are a dime a dozen. Every team has a good running back to two.

Its so funny how the media (and Steeler fans) twist and turn peoples views. Jamie Dukes (NFLN) and Skip Bayless (ESPN) both hate on Flacco constently. When ALL he has done is win football games and prove he can win. Remember the Steeler game in Pit where he drove 92 yards to beat the nasty Steeler D? Or when he outplayed Tom Brady in the AFCCG? He deserves a lot more credit then he gets all cause this damn media turns everything he says into “I’m the best QB in the league”. And everyone who follows ESPN and NFLN and just goes by what they say and they dont really know what their talking about is patallhetic. Do some research yourself ya slimy dirtball. Good day.

Ray Rice would do well to recognize the trend of NFL running backs – teams just won’t pay the level they want. He’s not going to get all he wants – but he’ll get a quality paycheck.

What he shouldn’t do is play. Not until he gets a deal with a nice signing bonus in hand. When it comes to RBs – moreso than other positions – doing the “right thing” hurts the player more than it does any other position. RBs have a limited career expectancy – Rice will use up one of those years if he signs the 1 year tender.

The Ravens will not and should not pay him Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson like money. But he should be given a very good deal. Forte passed on a quality contract last year and is not getting anything better now, despite being 26. Rice should bring his price down, and get a contract that which is extremely likely it is seen all the way through – thus collecting all of it. Better that than a deal that is all kinds of big money but if he’s cut, its all off the books.

Probably won’t go this far, but Rice has a lot of leverage as long as he’s willing to dig his heels in.

The Ravens already lost their best defensive player, he has to know they can’t afford to lose their best offensive player too and still contend in that division.

I think history has shown us that protracted hold-outs or not being in camp severely hurts backs and receivers. Just look at last year…nobody had an NFL Offseason program and look at those pulled hammys and the like. I’m not telling Ray Rice how to do his job. He deserves elite RB money. These 2 sides need to get this done before camp.

Most backs nowadays rnt worth the money but with flacco still throwing balls for the ravens they neeeeeed ray rice back there or they can watch the steelers/bengals take over that division
