Two weeks ago, Browns linebacker Scott Fujita and Packers defensive end Anthony Hargrove personally attended the hearing on one of two grievances filed in opposition to the suspensions imposed on Fujita, Hargrove, Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, and Saints defensive end Will Smith.
PFT has confirmed that Fujita attended Wednesday hearing regarding the other grievance. Steve Wyche of NFL Network first reported Fujita’s presence.
Hargrove possibly opted not to attend because Wednesday’s hearing focuses on the argument that Special Master Stephen Burbank has exclusive jurisdiction over any alleged salary-cap violations. Since Hargrove apparently wasn’t suspended for funding the bounty pool, Wednesday’s grievance has far less relevance to him personally.
There’s no timetable for a ruling by Burbank. He issued a decision on the Cowboys and Redskins salary-cap grievance 11 days after the hearing.
