DHB will plead not guilty to DUI charge on Thursday

AP

Raiders receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey had a mishap on the Bay Bridge last month, resulting earlier this month in a charge of driving under the influence.

He’s scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.  Heyward-Bey’s lawyer, Ivan Golde, says that the receiver will plead not guilty.

A top-ten pick in 2009, Heyward-Bey had his best season in 2011.  He faces discipline from the league, based on the outcome of the DUI charge.

  1. Open comment for all NFL players. Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs is illegal in all 50 US states. Most states set the legal limit at .08% Blood alcohol level. I dont know why these players were never told this, but there it is.

  2. Unreal. It is so easy to get a car service yet these knuckleheads never learn.

He better start catching the ball with his hands instead of trapping it with his body. No more scholarship players in Oakland. DHB was one of Al’s (RIP) boys but Big Reg will send him packing if he doesn’t perform.

Really? with a name like bdawkins20 and commenting on a Raiders story, I’m guessing probably a Bronco fan, and you are seriously going to mention Raider indiscretions after the few years the Donkeys have had? With 2 of their players suspended to start the season…. one of their players on trial for sexual abuse, one of their young players himself arrested for DUI, not to mention the different assault charges they’ve had. Really?
