Claiborne made Patrick look better. Plus the Honey Badger spent a lot of time as the slot defender,mainly in man coverage.

Ummm, if veteran defensive players can’t learn your defense by game 16 of the regular season, off season or not, you suck as a D coordinator. Any chimp would know you simplify things when your players are confused. But, hey, you stick up for Ryan!!! All it cost Dallas was a spot in the playoffs as they got to watch their division opponents win another Super Bowl. As a Giants fan, I think Ryan should have gotten a Super Bowl ring. He was, after all, an integral part of NY’s run.

Just to set you straight. Roy Williams was fearded by all coming across the middle in the beginning of his career, Terrance Newman hadnt giving up a touchdown in two full season in 08 and 09, Mike Jenkins has been a warrior since he’s been in the league. No, He isnt prime but he has been solid.. Just so you will know what your talking about when you open your mouth.

And what does that test have to do with playing Football?? Did it have question about how to jam a receiver or how to play a cover two??? I dont think it does, But, Maybe you took the test yourself.

Anyone who watches the final game of the Boys vs the Giants can see there were about a half a dozen plays or so where the Dallas D – including long standing vets – didn’t know where they needed to play. Final game of the season, playoffs at stake, and veteran players had no idea what Ryan was calling. Claiborne could be the greatest ever and you can’t overcome a hurdle like that. How can a rookie help a team when vets can’t figure out what the hell the D coordinator is doing?

Is Claiborne a linebacker, Am I missing something?? I thought he was a corner. I think he’s number one job is to defend the pass. If he’s the reason the Cowboys give up 200 yards rushing then it’s more about the DLine and Linebackers not doing their job.

At this point, when Rob Ryan speaks, I hear Charlie Brown’s teacher. But as a Bama fan who’s had a lot of opportunity to watch LSU, I can attest that he’s not exaggerating Claiborne’s talent. Claiborne was the star corner on one of the finest secondary units I’ve ever seen in the NCAA.

As with any college player, we won’t know what he can do in the pros until he does it. Many guys with spectacular talent have crashed and burned in the NFL–some due to off-field issues. But Claiborne certainly has the potential to be great if he continues as he began with the Tigers.

They had a need for a corner, and I’m pretty sure they had the consensus best defensive player in the draft (Claiborne) in their sights when they hired Ron Cooper, his position coach at LSU. They got out-foxed and ended up with a safety.

Too bad he doesn’t run a 4.2 like Deion did. THAT was a unique talent.

He could be the next Asomugha or Revis, thats not a bad thing. But im still waiting for the next Prime Time.

IIRC position coaches don’t do the drafting for any NFL team. Well maybe they do in Tampa, who knows. The truth is they probably figured they could get Claiborne with the 7th pick since the Jags traded up with them two spots to get Blackmon. Not many people really expected the Cowboys to move up, and if they were to move up it was expected that they would do it for Alex Barron.
Looks to me like the Bucs tried to get cute and got caught with their pants down.
