Dude wow – why did u decide to turn this into a race issue? If you’re going to criticize the collective intelligence of an entire city at least try to string together a legible sentence. If you recall, Cam Newton left college with some baggage. He was asked a lot of personal things during that time. I think I can understand why he actually might fake/force a smile during some of that questioning. Would you rather he frowned and scowled? He took it better than a lot of other prefessional football players would have.

Giants fan, but love this dude. He smiled and tried to be nice pre-draft, and they called him fake. If he was stonewall and distant, they would have said hes a problem. Haters going to hate.

Really really I find it sad that the only news about the panthers these guys can come up with is Alex Smith vs Cam Newton, and if it hasn’t been milked enough, Cam newtons character. For the love of football post some stuff that is positive to the panthers organization. All this negative feed back only proves how money hungry and blood thirsty the media is. Talk about Charles Johnson almost matching Peppers each year he has started. Talk about the future of round 1 pick luke kuwluchy or Frank Alexzander. Talk about who is going to step up this year for the Panthers David Gettis, Joe Adams or Kealoha Pilares. Talk about how Steve Smith is. HOF’er the best damn Panther to date.

When I read that “scouting report” that mentioned Cam’s “fake smile” I knew, even though I’m not a panthers fan, I would root for him as long as he plays. No rookie deserves that kind of slanderous attack from a writer, especially when all of the actual football people (Coaches, teammates, NFL executives) stated otherwise.

That journalist should be ashamed for reporting in a scouting report, which is supposed to list strengths and weaknesses in players with only a sentance or two about their personality and behavior, about Cam’s smile and demenor. Anyone with half a brain knew that Nawrocki was just trying to make a name for himself by using that source’s quote. 95% of that report was filled with junk trying to slander Cam, and 5% on the field material most of it negative.

I hope Cam doesn’t let this kind of talk (Nolan Nawrocki, Alex Smith) get to his head. What Nawrocki said is way worse than what Smith said about Cam. Either way, Cam’s name will be spoken alot in the future, he’s a superstar. I could see it bothering him if it’s 5-6 years into his career and he’s still hearing it from everybody but a meaningless shot here and there this early in his career he shouldn’t put too much into. Has he given reason to dislike him that I’m unaware of?
