No cleveland isnt kicking themselves abt griffin. The one year wonder. Sorry to break the news but ur screwed the next couple of drafts while cleveland stacks talent at more positions than just qb. Just another typical offseason where the redskins break the bank (draft bank this time) and end up screwed. Enjoy trying to build a team through fa again u losers. Since thats worked so great for u before. Hail to the losers!!!

Boller and George come to mind

Yup the Redskins seems to be going out of their way to try to convince people that they made the right choice.

Maybe they should shut up and wait until games are played before yammering so much.
---------------------

Hmm...didnt realize that the Redskins owned Yahoo Sports or PFT. Also didn't realize that Grossman or Cousins commenting on RGIII's arm strength was "going out of their way to convince people that they made the right choice"...especially considering those 2 had no input into who that draft choice would be (unless you consider all those Grossman picks "input"...hey-oo!), annnnnd considering that of any players in the NFL, those 2 would have the LEAST amount of motivation to needlessly promote RGIII's talents, considering his presence pushes them both down a spot on the depth chart.

They need to stop hyping up Griffin. .... I think RG3 will be a very good QB but the Redskins should just keep quiet and hope to surprise people this season
----------------------
How exactly do you imagine these quotes came about? Do you think Cousins, Grossman, and Paulson just wandered up to Carpenter, and said "Hey, man...let me tell you about my man, RGIII!", while giving a wink and a smile to Shanahan?? Or, perhaps, just maybe, a reporter, either with an angle to push (RGIII looks good in camp), or simply on the basis of watching him practice, decided to write this article, and approached a few players to either get their input on Griffin, or more specifically, their thoughts on his arm strength?

And what are they to do, clam up, and say nothing? Walk away? Lie about what they actually think? Downplay his obvious talent? All because you are getting tired of reading about him? Or because the obvious expectations on his shoulders are going to grow exponentially, because his backups think he's talented?

Seriously, do you guys actually think before posting on here??

that’s good that you clarified that it was the Redskins (as opposed to any other teams’ defenses) who ‘marvel at Griffin’s arm strength in offseason practices’.
because as we all know it takes a hell of a lot more than arm strength to make a good qb. i don’t know if i’ve ever heard the phrase… ‘giants marvel at eli’s arm strength’.
ya gotta be smart upstairs to be successful in this league, we’ve yet to see if griffin has that.
_____________________

How could that possibly need clarification? It's June first, how could "any other teams’ defenses" have the opportunity to"'marvel at Griffin’s arm strength'"? Everyone here knows that the Redskins are only team that could possibly have seen Griffin perform. Even for Dan Snyder, it would be historically bad decision to allow another team to hang out around Redskins park and watch the offense practice.

Furthermore, I can guarantee you that back in 2004 there was a news story somewhere about "the Giants marveling at Eli's arm strength/poise/leadership/constantly pouty facial expression".

Everyone is interested to see how next year's rookies, especially QB's taken in the top ten, are going to pan out. OTA's and training camps are the first opportunity the world has to see them perform alongside NFL players, and the rookies' own teams are the only source of information about how the new guys are coming along. You can believe them or not, but to criticize a story because the the only possible source of facts may be biased is simply nonsensical.

Lastly, "... and we’ve yet to see if griffin has [smarts]", "we"? Really? Because I'm pretty sure everyone who follows the NFL even a little bit has seen that Griffin has a high football IQ and, after graduating high school and college a year early, it's fair to say that Griffin clearly has something good going on "upstairs". In fact, the only "we" one can imagine you'd be referring to are fans of rival teams who are sour about not getting to play Rex Grossman twice a year anymore.

Even for Dan Snyder, it would be historically bad decision to allow another team to hang out around Redskins park and watch the offense practice.

Furthermore, I can guarantee you that back in 2004 there was a news story somewhere about “the Giants marveling at Eli’s arm strength/poise/leadership/constantly pouty facial expression”.

Everyone is interested to see how next year’s rookies, especially QB’s taken in the top ten, are going to pan out. OTA’s and training camps are the first opportunity the world has to see them perform alongside NFL players, and the rookies’ own teams are the only source of information about how the new guys are coming along. You can believe them or not, but to criticize a story because the the only possible source of facts may be biased is simply nonsensical.

Lastly, “… and we’ve yet to see if griffin has [smarts]“, “we”? Really? Because I’m pretty sure everyone who follows the NFL even a little bit has seen that Griffin has a high football IQ and, after graduating high school and college a year early, it’s fair to say that Griffin clearly has something good going on “upstairs”. In fact, the only “we” one can imagine you’d be referring to are fans of rival teams who are sour about not getting to play Rex Grossman twice a year anymore.

The articles hyping RGIII 100
The articles hyping A Luck 0
Redskins replacing RGIII with cousins and/or grossman Week six: PRICELESS!

I'm not sure it would happen and I think RGIII may actually be too good for skins to screw up but if it does skins fans will be jumping off the 14th street bridge and shanny's head will definitely turn purple on the sidelines right before he's shown the door!

Best team in MD STILL plays in Bmore not Landover!

Ryan Leaf impressed SD with his strong arm too

So what, you'd be more impressed with the guy if the article was titled "Redskins marvel as Griffin is out-thrown by six-year-old girl"?

On a side note – washington dc sports radio has said he looked not that great at these past OTA sessions but his athleticism still looks great.
___
On a side note -- this is simply not true. All the local media reports on Griffin's OTA performance have been very positive. You can take that with a grain of salt if you want, I frequently do, local media tend to view local sports through rose tinted glasses. Whether Griffin is struggling or not is not the issue here: it's that the media has not discussed Griffin struggling at all, and it's a little weird for a Steeler fan to report that they are. Even if Griffin has not yet completed a pass in OTA's, it's kind of obnoxious to have Pittsburgh fans reporting unverified, and most likely fictional, developments in the DC area on a major football news site read by fans all over the country.

Isn't it funny how people can legitimize bashing someone like RGIII by saying he hasn't proven anything yet?

By all accounts this guy has been doing very well, yet people always come on a beat their chest comparing him to Ryan Leaf before he's ever played a game.

Blindly predicting someone is a bust just because you are not enamored with them is stupid. Takes a know-it-all to make these claims-and know-it-alls are typically dumb people.

I root for an AFC West team, so I honestly do not care if this NFC East QB is good or not. Makes no difference--I just want people to be objective. I like being cynical as much as the next person, but please at least have a foundation for your doubts.
