Getty ImagesTexans coach Gary Kubiak played down the fact that linebacker Brian Cushing was getting an MRI on his knee on Monday, but having such a scan is always cause for concern for a player who has dealt with knee problems during his career.
You can feel free to extinguish any candles lit on Cushing’s behalf. Kubiak addressed Cushing’s status after Tuesday’s Organized Team Activity and said that there’s nothing wrong with Houston’s leading tackler.
“He’s fine. Everything is fine,” Kubiak said, via Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com “We will err on the side of caution here. I don’t even know if I’ll practice him the rest of the week. He did work out, he just didn’t go with the team.”
Cushing’s knee issues, which led to surgery after his rookie year, have never kept him from playing in a game since he joined the Texans. It doesn’t appear that the current soreness is a sign that he’s going to be in any danger of missing one this season, but it will certainly be something to keep an eye on once the Texans get to minicamp and training camp.

Just get him back on the HGH and he will be fine
They took the cushing out of Brian’s knees.
Ray Lewis retired and my Madden team needed a new MLB so I traded a center to HOU, and man, Cushing is OWNING the 2014 season.
Wonder if the roids he takes has something to do with this.
The modern day Brian Bosworth
Nothing a little Winstrol won’t fix…
They checked and confirmed he didn’t have a tumor in his knee.
Now with his knee healed, he can proceed to ‘overtrain’ himself again.
he’s the next Shawne Merriman. if I were Houston I would steer clear of offering a second contract to him.
To all of you steroids commenters:
C’mon guys, he was OVERTRAINING and that’s why he had 10 times the amount of pregnant-female hormone in his system as a normal person. It was all the OVERTRAINING, not steroids.

“The modern day Brian Bosworth”
Not even sure what this comparison is supposed to mean. Bosworth was terrible in the pros; so far, Cushing has been great.
I wonder whats more important to Brian’s career, a healthy knee or a healthy dose of performing enhancing supplements?
