Thanks Raiders fans, I needed a good laugh and listening to everyone who said this was a good trade for Oakland definitely delivered. If you guys really think Palmer was worth a first and second round pick it proves you have never watched him play in the NFL. I watched every game he played in Cincinnati and he hasn’t been even a decent QB since he blew out his knee. The guy is scared to death to fully step into his throws so the ball sails on him and thats where the majority of his INT’s come from. Aside from the picks Palmer lacks the leadership qualities required to be an elite QB. He doesn’t take charge of the huddle or demand accountability from the rest of the offensive unit and until he starts to do that he’ll be hard pressed to be an effective QB. I would love to see the Raiders do well but be realistic fellas, it’s not going to happen with Palmer. You got a marginal QB at best and had to give a kings ransom to get him. You should come to terms with it now so going 6-10 this season isn’t such a tough pill to swallow.

HAHAHAHAHA. So, we got rid of a quitter that was doing nothing for us. We got TWO great draft picks ( 1st and 2nd ). AND, we now have the coach that engineered the trade to begin with. Hmmmmm,,,,, yeah. I am going out on a ledge here to say that the Bengals got the better of the deal on this one. And trust me, we know it doesn’t happen often so we are gonna gloat. And to top it off? We got draft picks for 85 too!!!! Dead weight thrown overboard, or better put ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION. Maybe you guys can pick up Chad now too and he, Carson and TJ can rekindle all of their past successes,,,,,oh wait.

The guy that signed him, Hue Jackson was his long time coach in Cincinnati. Thats was why Jackson wanted him……….and they also went out and got his long time security blanket TJ Housh………

Ohhh man I just got schoooled yo! What a fool. Last year was no fluke for Palmer. You can bet your house on it. He will throw more INT’s than TD’s this year. He’s gun shy in the pocket. Ever since the knee injury he’s a flake back there. Once he gets a little pressure it’s over with for him. Give me facts all you want, Palmer is DONE. At best he’s a good vet presence around if you wanna groom a young buck. Maybe they’ll learn a little bit about quitting too! Once again Raider fan, after this year you’ll come back on here eating crow b/c it’ll be reinforced that you guys got FLEECED by the worst owner in all of pro sports. So how does it feel?

Sorry, son. Your revisionist hisory might fool other people but not me. Palmer had a one bad season in Cincy, as the whole team did in 2010, He was hurt in 2008. Other than that the guy played well for a sorry ass franchise that hadn’t been to the play-offs in about 15 years before he got there.

Palmer’s career TD/Int % compares favorably (even after the last two seasons) to Payton Manning, Rivers, and Roethlisberger to only name a few of the so called “top” QB’s. That’s a fact. Go look it up.

A love it when people don’t do their homework before shooting from the lip or knowingly manipulate the truth for theie own agenda.

Maybe the Raiders paid too high a price for Palmer, but what were they supposed to do, play the rest of the season with Kyle Boller as the starting QB? Give Palmer a little more time with the team and then judge the trade.

I love it when people say………well, time will tell if it was a bad deal based on the fact that no one knows how Dru Kirkpatrick will be. Remember, it’s not only the player the Bengals got for Palmer, it’s also the player that the Raiders didn’t get in the draft. And when the Bengals get a high second rounder next year, that’s another pick the Raiders won’t get.

Lets put this simply, how could the Bengals get a better deal? I suppose a better deal would of been if they had made it with Indy instead last year……but, we just have to settle for this…….and the key word is “We”

How soon the haters forget … JaMarcus was a first over all pick … the Carson trade was a steal for the Raiders.
Yes … the Bengals have great drafting skills too … Akili Smith.
First round picks are not a sure thing people … the top half of every draft every year turns out to be busts or just average players … no pro bowl material.

I love veteran QBs with a huge chip on their shoulder. Palmer will rank in the Top 10 this year, as will the RAIDERS offense. If the RAIDERS defense plays in the top half of the league, the RAIDERS win the AFC West.

The RAIDERS failed in week 17 and the broncos backed into the playoffs in 2011.

It won’t happen again- the RAIDERS win the West- no doubt.

People who point at Palmer’s TD/INT ratio last season as defining the QB’s ability, really need to get a clue.

The man came off the frickin couch in the middle of the season, not having any knowledge of his teammates or playbook… and also not having the best player on the team, DMac, taking the pressure off of him. Considering, the man did well. I expect him to do much better this season.

You want to critique him as a Raider… at least wait until after this season. Otherwise, you’re being ignorant.

If anyone says that Carson can’t still huck it check the last two games he played against the Chargers 42 of 63 716 yards 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, and a QB rating well over 100. Add a full off-season with his receivers and having the Raiders best weapon Darren Mcfaden back in the fold and you a have what can be a powerful offense. Carson won’t be the problem, the defense is the question mark. Given the Raiders lack of success in the first round I would say that the picks are well worth it. Plus he is younger and a lot cheaper than Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning

With Reggie McKenzie in charge, don’t be surprised to see Palmer as nothing more than a stopgap and the Raiders to pile up 10-12 picks for the next draft. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see him traded for whatever they can get.

Love it. A first rounder this year and a second rounder next year for a two time pro bowl QB that managed to lead his team to the play-offs twice? Yeah, I’ll make that deal every time.

Take a look at what the Bears gave up to get Cutler and what the Skins gave up to get Griffin (who hasn’t played a down yet in the NFL by the way). The Raiders got more than than fair value for their picks.

There’s a lot of scared haters slinking around their rocks right now. Well, you’re going to have to crawl back under those rocks soon, because the Raiders are going to be good and you know that deep down.

Don’t worry about Carson’s picks last year. For a guy coming off the couch in mid season, his play overall was more than satisfactory. If the Raiders had played better defensively, then they would have been in the play-offs. Palmer wasn’t the problem. He’s part of the solution.

Palmer is poised to have a big year with a full off season and working in Knapp’s QB friendly scheme. Plamer can still make the 60 yard bombs, but watch 6 yard check downs turn into 50 yard TD’s this year with McFadden and Reese this season too.

Yeah, the Raiders are more than capable to win the West. Sorry, haters.
