I was at that Redskins game where he dragged two would-be tacklers 15 yards and then shed them like dirty laundry in order to take off down the sideline. It honestly looked like he had missed a whistle or something, everyone else on both teams thought the play was finished 5 seconds earlier.

I would hope (if this is true about the contract) that WW is feeling happy for his teammate. They are two different players at two different points in their careers. And Gronk wasn’t making 9 mill guaranteed. I love them both and I’m sure neither begrudges the other anything. You may have a point in a couple years if you’re talking about AHern though. Even though he is also different as a player from Gronk, he’s the same position and close in age.

I predict it’ll be Ozzie Newsome, who was dumb enough to sign this clown to a long-term deal. Pollard flashes early with every team he’s on, talks a lot of trash and idiot fan bases buy into it.
But soon enough everyone will see.
Dude can’t cover a fence post. He’ll be exposed like the pass coverage liability he is soon enough….and Ozzie will be wondering what on Earth he was thinking.

The only way I can read statements like that is “I have never watched Rob Gronkowski play football.”

He’s really a jaw-dropping player. Absurdly big and strong, with super soft hands and surprising speed, and lays out blocks that absolutely obliterate LBs. It’s as if a supervillain went into his underground lab to breed RoboTightEnd.

(He’s also a total goofball, which is the one reason this extension would be a little surprising.)

Terms of the agreement aren’t known. Under the pre-2011 CBA, rookie deals may be renegotiated after two years. As of 2011, rookie contracts cannot be re-done until the player has three years of service.

Brady is so wired to that team, that everything, I mean everything is catered to his abilities. That is why every receiver and tight end succeed when playing with him. All they have to do is learn how to run crisp routes and the ball will be there. Brady is probably one of the most accurate QB’s out there, he makes everybody look better than they actually are, including Gronkowski.

Gronk deserves his money. The dude scored 20 TDs (including playoffs) which is unheard of for a TE. Obviously playing with Brady helps quite a bit. But lots of WRs and TEs have played with Tom Terrific and not had anything close to Gronk’s productivity.
