For a team with a no-nonsense coach, the Patriots have had their share of reality television stars.
Less than a week after releasing wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, the Pats have signed wideout Jesse Holley.
(Speaking of Ocho, would it be considered kissing up to mention Florio talked about his prospects today?)
Primarily a special teams player, Holley’s most (only?) notable for winning Michael Irvin’s reality show 4th and Long, earning him a shot to go to training camp with the Cowboys in 2009. He spent that year on the practice squad, and he earned time running down kicks in 2010. Holley caught seven passes for 169 yards last season, his only offensive stats.
His new teammate, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, will be featured in an upcoming Fox dating show called The Choice.
That didn’t deter the Patriots from giving him real cash, but Holley’s going to have a much harder time talking Bill Belichick into giving him a rose, or at least a roster spot.
