The Philadelphia Eagles tried out veteran punter Brad Maynard Monday, according to Aaron Wilson at scout.com.

The Eagles current depth chart at the position includes Chas Henry, an undrafted free agent who ranked 30th in gross average (42.9) and 33rd in net (36.9) last year, along with undrafted rookie Ryan Tydlacka.

The 38-year-old Maynard, who spent last year in Cleveland, was one of the few punters who ranked worse than Henry in those two categories (40.5 gross and 36.7 net).

At the same time, adding someone with Maynard’s experience at this time of year only makes sense, especially when 90-man rosters give you the opportunity to kick tires on a lot of players at a lot of positions.
