THE GREAT DETROIT LIONS
Where ever Cliff Avril is next season he is a Lions this season unless he is traded.
I would like to see the trade because with the cap it is only so many super stars can be on one team Calvin big money Stafford and Suh and a bunch that will be up this off season.
A good job by the front office not to over pay his replacement is on deck Young and Lo-Jack can replace him for less than half what he will get Cliff it gone after this year.

Avril makes plays. Period. I wish he could shed blocks better and tackle more but there’s no denying he has a nose for the ball in the passing game. It’s a passing league, folks. Sign this guy get him happy and then let’s find VandenBosh’s replacement!! Go lions!!

Avril has explained to the media several times that he has no animosity towards the Lions organization and that he knows this is strictly about the financial/business end of things. He has been participating in community charity events sponsored by other Lions players. He has repeatedly said that he understands this process. Forte played “good soldier” last year and it got him nowhere.

Business is business. Let’s let this thing play out and see where it goes. Both parties have valid points. One way or another, when the line up against the Rams during the first week of the regular season, Avril will be in the Blue & Silver.

No reason for him to do anything until July 16th. And even then he doesn’t have to sign if he doesn’t like the deal. Either way he’ll be ready for game 1 of the regular season. He’ll either have a long term deal or he’ll sign the franchise tag deal for this year.
