If Weeden went down for a couple games, who’d you want to start instead? Right now, I’d have to say McCoy. And since his salary is smaller too, unless Seneca outplays him at camp, if anyone goes, it is probably Seneca that departs.

There are at least 10 backup QBs in the NFL that would start in Cleveland and that’s with Weeden there.

Colt McCoy will be gone by end of training camp, book it, less of a distraction for Weeden, as the Browns will go all in on him as the starting quarterback. Seneca Wallace will be kept around as the cheaper alternative and no one will expect him to challenge the starter and Holmgren does have a thing for Wallace since his Seattle days as was previously noted. I heard that Weeden and McCoy don’t even speak to each other, as they vie for the #1 spot. Pretty good for team chemistry right ?! Just what the Browns need a divided locker room with both McCoy and Weeden on the roster for week 1 of the regular season.

McCoy has not gotten a fair shake. In his Rookie year Mangini would not let the coaches talk to him and made sure he always got the playbook one day after the other QBs all because he was against drafting McCoy. Last year with Hillis injured and no Wrs was a very rough year. He is a tough kid and it sems to soon to give up on him.

All that being said I like Weeden even if the Browns may have drafted him a bit early. With Richardson as the focus of the offense it should make things a lot easier on Weeden.

Wait…..at this point in his career Wallace still thinks he should be a #2 on a team?? He’s a #2 on a team with a bad QB situation. I’ve never been certain what Holmgren think’s he’s doing with him. Not terrible, but just….why?

Colt is better than Wallace in my own humble opinion. When Seneca was in Seattle he’d have to go in for Hasselbeck and he’d find a way to lose. I don’t blame him for not wanting to be the 3rd guy in Cleveland though…my only question is why would he wanna be the 1st guy? Would YOU wanna be promoted to Captain of a sinking Titanic?!!!!! Sorry Cleveland fan.

Same overall win loss record. Same over-inflated opinions of themselves. This will be an incredibly hard decision for the Browns. I’m confident though that they find the absolute best way to screw it up though.

Hopefully, it’s Seneca Wallace that hits the bricks. Not exactly what you would call a “team player”. I think that there’s confidence that Colt can shine, if/when called upon. And he’s cheaper than Wallace…
