This guy is the real thing. Anyone who has heard him speak football knows that he is one smart cookie, and he’s poised. He’ll be a great leader too.
All you naysayers will eat crow before half the season is gone, and I’m a Lion fan.
Can hardly wait for some Redskin-Lion games. RGIII vs. Stafford. Delicious!!
________
Agreed. Thanks for being an objective football fan and not just a knee-jerk trashtalker. But can we also make a under-the-table deal not to upgrade our secondaries until this happens? I would love to see an over-under on a football game set at 190.

As a non Redskisn fan, I guess I can respond to peytonsneck18:
Jesus Christ. Sounds like J Wreck has this guy dead to rights. I’m not big into the wussification of anything, whether its the NFL or the internet. But talking about busting on redskins moms chests and making death threats when you get called out on it… what the hell? Plus the racis sh** about RG3 workin at a fry machine? You know the dude graduated in like 3 years right. If he doesn’t make it in the NFL he’s at least gonna be a lawyer or somethin I mean, he shaves off those dreadlocks, kid could be president someday.

Way I see it, save sperm for the bedroom, save the big man stuff for a bar fight, and get your dumb a** off the internet.

But seriosly, somebody has got to do something about this guy.

Quick PSA for redskins4rg3 and other confused Washington fans. peytonsneck is not a Colts fan. Think about it, why would a Colts fan name himself peytonsneck? That's like a Skins fan naming himself Theismannsleg or Samuelsneck.

He's a cowboys fan. His name used to be boysroll, and he would post the exact same crap all over every Redskins article.

More importantly, do not engage with him, that's all he wants. Everything he says is going to be stupid, racist, and nonsensical. His only goal is to provoke you into wasting valuable time in your worthwhile, meaningful life.

People us Redskins fans are not dumb and are not dubbing our quarterback as the best ever we are just excited. The Indianapolis colts fan is just mad that his team is such a terrible team that they can't even build depth at the Qb position. 2-14, C'mon man, people just started realizing that the colts organization made a easy pick and got a lucky pic on a quarterback that made their whole team seem better. Hell atleast our team is has depth, your team last year was a sad excuse for a team, not trying to offend you colts fans just the one fan

jwreck, you are right about the difference on how PFT treats the comments, that is truly unfair. when it comes to peytonsneck18 though, people like him don't just go away.

it's sad, but it's true, even if he got blocked from the site, he would just make another email and screen name and start over. so I find a way to laugh at most the BS people like that put out there in cyber land.

I would like to hear your thoughts on the todays black qb, maybe you should blog, if you already do, post the link.

I would say even though it is different than trying to ride the bus in 1962, it's just like racism today in general, things are not as bad, but it still exist with some of the same tendencies

cdrion and truefan, good points, but what Washington really needs to work on as a fanbase is just giving peytonsneck18 the silent treatment.

The best course of action as far as peytonsneck is concerned would be for the entire fanbase to just tune him out. It's not like he will respond to rational arguments or engage in actual discussions of football like most of us are trying to. Cdrion, well said, bro, but there is no chance peytonsneck will ever "come w/ facts and we can talk it out"

Whether he's a snotty 12 year old or an unbelievably pathetic 37 year old living in his mothers' basement, the only thing that will get him off the computer and outside for some much needed fresh air is for Redskins Nation to ignore him completely.

It would also be helpful if someone figured out who censors the comments section on PFT and alerted them to the fact that obscene pornographic imagery like: "this guy IRG3 is gonna be a bigger bust than what i left on a redskins moms chest last night!!!!" is a far worse detriment to conversation than the posts I, a black man, try to make about how race is not a big factor in the NFL anymore.

I have tried, on numerous occasions, to write balanced, thoughtful paragraphs on how how being a black quarterback in the NFL in 2012 is very different than being a black man trying to ride the bus in Alabama in 1962. Yet somehow, they are always deleted within three minutes. Meanwhile, peytonsneck18 is allowed to say whatever he wants about the sexual abuse of my mother. The PFT profanity bureau really needs to be made aware that while the word a** will get a post censored, the phrase "bust on [my] mom's chest" will not. And that is a major problem.

IRG3 will not put up stellar numbers, this isnt the big 12 anymore, he will get exposed real quick and will post akili smoth type numbers, just cause yr fast, that doesnt mean u will be a SB champ, quick, name me the last
sb champ QB that was a runner……………………………………………………. what i thought!!!! IRG3 will be welcoming folks to McD’s in 3 years

ummm Aaron Rodgers, John Elway, Steve Young, thats just 4 SB victorys in the last 17 years (cause you are obvisously slow i will point out elway won 2) Now i know some of those guys arent looked at as "runners" but they are just as much "runners" as RG3 proved to be in college just not as fast or as black, so that may be where you confusion comes in. We can go back further if you like Stauback was an option qb at the naval acadamy..he won 2 sb's. You are allowed to hate but at least make a good arguement, so we can talk it out. You already said Vick was bigger then RG3, which not even close to correct now this. While i realize you just like getting a rise out of people and prolly reread your posts over and over while you touch yourself as you are listening to justin bieber songs, please please make a factual arguement at least. Skins fan are use to haters but i like talking football so come w/ facts and we can talk it out

We can go back further if you like Stauback was an option qb at the naval acadamy..he won 2 sb’s.

Cam is a bigger quarterback, but that doesn't mean he and griffin are completely different and shouldn't be compared.

they both come from spread offenses in college, have very strong, accurate arms, and can extend the play with their legs.

I do think griffin will be a little more accurate his first year, he is also faster than Cam, but Cam will have more rushing touchdown's than RG3 because of size in the redzone.

Steve Young is also a great comparison, as is Aaron Rodgers, for some of the same reasons as Cam.

quick releases, accurate, and can extend the play with their legs, and RG3 is also much faster then both of these NFL greats

if he can be what his potential is, the skins are gonna have a great time playing football for the next decade and some change.

Stop comparing RG3 to Cam Newton they are different types of QB. Cam is more like Big Ben he is a monster. RG3 is more like Steve Young.
_____
Griffin's playing style is much more like Young's than Newton's. However, the reason Newton and Griffin are compared so much is because of similar circumstances surrounding their entry into the NFL, rather than similar playing style.

They are both Heisman-winning black quarterbacks who played in offenses that don't necessarily translate well to the NFL. They both received enormous media as players, athletes, and people, and generated massive discussions about their ability to succeed at an NFL level.

Similarly both were labeled by the media as the most exciting quarterback we've seen in a long time: a label that Panther fans have good reason to resent given that Cam will be entering his second season next year, and has actually proved himself in the NFL, leading to comments like"

RG I like you but you are no Cam Newton yet you owe him millions for his success. You will be a decent QB but you are no Superman and never will be. He will eat your lunch this year when the Panthers crush the Skins and your sorry pansy owner. Can he even throw a football?"

(Response: Come on bro, can't we just both enjoy our co-"most exciting player/s" in the NFL?)

In short, though Cam and Griff are not the same player at all, they invite comparison by being very similar in most other regards. However, Griffin has never been stupidly accused of having a fake smile, only rightfully convicted of having a goofy one.

arkadyrenko says: Jun 14, 2012 5:23 AM

I’ve seen this movie already:

Act 1: Someone in the Redskins organization: “RGIII is really good! Really! Even better than we thought he’d be, and we already thought he was really good! Wow! You know, just – wow!”

Act 2: Redskins fans: “Woooooo! Hooooooo! Super Bowl Champs every year until RGIII retires!!!!! All other teams should just forfeit and save the plane ticket to DC!!!! HAIL!!!!!!!

What do you mean ‘manage expectations for a rookie QB?’ Didn’t you hear the guy from the Redskins say the new Redskins QB is going to be good? What more evidence do you need? HAIL!!!!!!”

Questions for Act 3: Will RGIII live up to the (stratospheric) hype? (Probably not; nobody could.) After he throws his first incompletion, will Redskins fans be able to resist mass suicide? (Yes, but there will be a noticeable spike after his first preseason INT.)
_____________

Where? Where have you seen this movie before? I've been looking for a movie about what happens when the Redskins drafted a quarterback in the top ten since 1993.

Additionally, it looks like you really misinterpreted Act 2. The director was very clear in his vision that there would be one Redskins fan screaming about super bowls, while the rest of the fan base, though optimistic, mumbled about rookie mistakes and an 8-8 season

On that note, at the core of the message, is their really any difference between the following two comments?
"That tremble you feel is the 31 other NFL Franchises shaking in their boots. RG3 is about to OWN this league for the next decade in a half. He will win AT LEAST 3 Superbowls and the Redskins will be POWERFUL. The epiccenter of this tremble is Dallas, brother."
and
"IRG3 will be the fries machine operator at jack in the box in 3 years!!!"

No, at their core, these posts are virtually identical. Stupid people spewing their emotions all over the comment section. Obviously the first is spewing love for the Redskins, while the second is spewing vitriolic hate. Neither one is a thoughtful or accurate prediction of the future.

Yet somehow the first post gets all Redskins fans labeled as dumb, psychotically optimistic nutjobs. By your own logic (and the logic of many other posters on this article), shouldn't all non-Redskins fans be labeled as hateful, probably racist losers who know nothing about football?

Great but one small problem- this is still the Kyle Shanahan offense, most of the league already figured it out a long time ago.
____________
Right, clearly, which is why the Texans, who are still running the same offense finished (in total offense):
13th in 2011 (after Kyle's departure)
3rd in 2010
4 in 2009
3rd in 2008 (Kyle's first year as Offensive Coordinator)
14th in 2007 (before Kyle installed his offense)

Skins fans should be more concerned with how fast he learns how to eat a sandwich. Guy is built like a kicker with dreads.
______
It's really not clear where this perception comes from. While he's clearly no Manning or Newton, Griffin is substantially bigger than Vick; the same size as Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler; and, though he's shorter, weighs more than Matt Ryan.

Skipping over the "we all know how this will turn out." Really? "We all"? "Everyone" agrees that Griffin will be the worst quarterback in the history of the game? Must have misplaced my invite to the secret conference where that was decided.

Setting aside individual team loyalties, as football fans, don't we all benefit when the Redskins, and Rams, and Browns turn it around? Look how much life has been restored to the NFL by the resurgence of the 49ers, Bengals, Texans, and Lions over the last couple seasons.

In summary, even if Griffin is a bust, let Washington fans have their day in the sun right now. And don't hope for potential franchise players to flop out of the NFL, because when bad teams become good, everyone benefits.

Silly to predict Super Bowls already (La Bron anyone?), but with that said, this article is encouraging for a Redskins fan. Encouraging because with the public love that Mike and Kyle S are giving this guy, it's more and more likely that we see him as the Day 1 Starter and not Rex Grossman (yes, I am worried about that!)

I don't see the Redskins tearing the league up this year, but I do want to see Griffin start from Day 1 so he can spend the season learning and growing, as other QBs have done in the recent past such as Newton, Ryan, Roeslesburger, etc.

If we go 8-8 this year and we compete in every game it will be a good year. RG3 is going to make rookie mistakes and will learn from them as he goes along. It's going to be fun to watch. Can't wait for tickets to become available. Hail!

You haters are a bunch of idiots. Keep thinking that the real skins fans are setting this unreasonable expectation. You just get the snip its from a very small percentage on this site. True skins fans understand this is a work in progress, and are not announcing super bowls. REAL fans are just looking for improvement from last year, and hopefully by year 2, RG3 and the REST of the team continue to improve to grab a playoff spot. Also, the media is the culprit of the hype. The coaching staff is answering questions, not hyping this kid. So keep hating, and make inaccurate statements, because when they do finally get this turned around, it will be fun to watch. HTTR!!
