Kendall Wright likely to miss Titans minicamp

The Titans might want to start wrapping their wide receivers in bubble wrap.

They’re waiting for Kenny Britt to get back on the field after a torn ACL and MCL ruined his 2011 season and now they’ve got a reason to be concerned about first-round pick Kendall Wright. Wright had to leave Thursday’s practice early after injuring his shoulder while trying to reel in a pass from Jake Locker.

“His shoulder is sore from falling on it,” Munchak said, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “He went for a ball, trying to make a play – that is sort of in his DNA, to try and catch every ball. That is one he probably should’ve just let go. You don’t want anyone to get hurt obviously, but from what we can tell it is not something that is going to be long-term. He’ll be all right.”

While Munchak thinks Wright will be all right, he doesn’t think that he’ll be all right in time to take part in next week’s minicamp. Munchak said Wright is probably going to miss the last three days of practice for the Titans before they gather for training camp in July.

The Titans have the makings of a dynamic receiving duo with Britt and Wright. They just need to figure out a way to get them both on the field at the same time.
