As owners of the Packers we expect our team to reach its potential. When our team is the most talented team in the league, which we are (even after losing to the gmen), we expect to win the Super Bowl. So to your point, yes, we need our team to win Super Bowl(s) in order to enjoy it.

I was pretty skeptical… it felt like Mike Sherman all over again, and I wondered why they would pass on all the other guys out there for *this* guy. Now I know. Great coach, steadiest hand on the wheel I’ve seen in a long time.

I don’t need the Pack to go to the Super Bowl every year; I’m just glad that they field a competitive team every year. As a Packers fan, it isn’t hard to get fired up for a new season when you’ve got a team that’s perennially in the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy.

Obviously the players have to perform like they’re paid to but without a good coaching staff it’s difficult for any team to reach the promised land. The Packers are outstanding in that regard.
