Any of us who played competitive sports ran into a few Tim Tebows–guys who were annoying to us because they were so talented, so confident and so popular. That envy seeps through a lot of these comments, but now, as I get older, I’m more sanguine about it. If I’d have played against Tim Tebow, I’d have hated him too–mostly because all the girls would have loved him–but now, I have to say I admire and respect him, even as I cringe at his all-too-visible religiosity.

Some guys are just winners and achievers. Say what you want about him; he’s one of those guys. Remember you read this when he’s a successful Jet and a wildly popular celeb-athlete in NYC.

This story has nothing to do with the chargers, a congregation renting out the stadium is nothing new. My sister is a Jehovas Witness and she goes to a three day event of sermons and religious skits anually at Qualcomm Stadium.

I like Tim Tebow, but also get tired of everything being about Tebow.

I just read the Adam Jones judgement article about the strip club shooting….. and I’ll take a Tim Tebow story any day over stories about drug arrests, shootings, domestic violence, etc., etc., etc.

Ya know… Tebow is about as good of a dude as anyone God put on this earth. Going to NY will end his NFL career, and put him in a media related job where he belongs. Tebow will leave the NFL to join the ministry or the Media within 3 years.

Why can’t a guy without children speak about fatherhood?
Fatherhood requires leadership, devotion, hard work and you have to love what you are doing. There are tough times, joyous times, fun days and sad ones too.
Gee, all these things are are very similar to the things required to be a successful pro athlete and a good team player…..

How about hearing a sermon from an actual father, veteran, or some sort of leader who isn’t a kid with an autobiography. There are much more qualified leaders out there than this …

I’m not a Tebow hater, but a fathers day sermon from someone who has no kids is a little lame. I’d rather hear how to be a good father from someone with some experience.
