Not a bad pickup by the Eagles. Adds depth at a position that’s pretty thin for them. Eagles still suck though…

Did you see their safeties last year. He was penciled in as a starter when he signed the dotted line.

Not a bad move=experienced. Nate Allen will have a break out year, this year. Look for Coleman to be more consistent. Remeber all the guys have a year under their belt with the new defense.Otogwe is perfect for this group and he doesn’t have to start. I think The Birds are now set at safety> Its Back up QB that really worries me. Love to see them get Colt McCoy

B-dawk is 39 now. He was 36 when the Eagles let him walk for the insane money that Denver offered him. Otogwe is 31. Welcome to 2012.

Anyone who thinks Otogwe is markedly better than Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman also needs to check the calendar and the game film on all three.

Otogwe add’s depth, but nothing more.

He might have a bounce back year because he is mad of how he played in the past. If he takes coleman spot I hope he learns how to tacle as a strong safety should. Hopefully the saefties don’t bite on the play action like last year. If the the front seven stops the run safteies will stay in their position.

I like the signing, last year was a down year but he really came into it the last 3 or 4 games. I don’t think he solves our issues at safety but it can’t hurt to have a veteran back there.. Jarrett and Allen both have the physical skill set to be productive but Jarrett seems to lack knowledge and Allens nuts haven’t seemed to drop yet.. Coleman would be nasty if he was big enough to tackle DeSean.. Hopefully Atogwe pushes them along.

They should have signed Laron Landry too. That way the Brittle Brothers could be united once again to allow every pass over 15 yards to sail over their heads.

Atogwe wasn’t that bad last year . Quarterback’s only had a 76 rating throwing against him , he had 3 INT’s & was still solid at tackling . Granted he wasn’t close to playing up to his contract & he’s been injury prone , but he provides real competition, depth & brings a veteran presence to the Safety position . At least we now know that Jaiquawn (sp?) Jarett is an absolute bust .

Atogwe is in the same boat as Bell, a little too old, and a little too slow.

Its nice to have a little experience back there now, and an extra camp body…but Atogwe is the guy I wanted 5 years ago, not now.

Atogwe is done fellas. It’s not just occasional badly screwed up coverage, it’s that he is mediocre in the running game.

He looks like he’s playing hurt when he isn’t hurt.

His problem has been injuries. He is only 31. If he is healthy he can return to his level of play from two years ago, which is better then any of the current S on the Eagles. This is a good signing by Philly. Atogwe has alot of upside and is young enough to have a bounce back year if he can stay healthy.

The Eagles return both of their starting safeties from last season, Kurt Coleman and Nate Allen, so Atogwe may have a tough time earning a spot in the starting lineup in Philadelphia.

Hard time earning a starting spot…really?! If Nate and Kurt play as inconsistently as they did last year he has a realistic shot at getting some playin time.
