I think you guys might actually be close to the same page.

Without money to support the proper infrastructure, there is nobody, in official capacity or not, around to ask the questions you ask. And, yes, a lot of those people don’t believe they need help at all.

Seems like bipolar hypomania approaching full blown to me, possibly with an SAD component, since we’re approaching the longest daylength day (june 21) of the year.

Other symptoms: religiosity, obsession, compulsive phone callings, delusions, grandiosity, agitation when thwarted … it would be interesting to know what kind of sleep this guy’s been getting (or likely not) over the last several weeks

So that’s it huh? Just throw money at problems and that fixes it? Standard knee jerk response.

Did you ever bother to find out what it takes to actually “help” mentally ill people? Do you know legally what it takes to commit them for help? Do you think mentally ill people just show up at the health department and ask for help? (some do but most don’t).

Just love to hear all the “just spend more money on the problem” crowd spout off. There are a LOT of programs out there, a lot of them non-governmental, to help these people. Unfortunately most of those who need help the most, don’t believe they need any at all.

Just like the old saying: “You can lead a horse to water…”

A lot of these cases are very sad. There’s just nowhere to put them and give them the help they need. So, off to jail they go.

BTW, technically you can’t issue a summons to someone who is mentally incompetent. Not that Tebowmania denotes that but this one screams ‘issues’ beyond the normal weirdness.
