Buccaneers defensive tackle Brian Price has had himself quite an offseason.

He started it trying to continue rehabbing from surgery to reattach his hamstrings to his pelvis he had as a rookie in 2010 and then got distracted from that and football by the death of his sister in an automobile accident. Price, who has also had two brothers murdered while he was growing up, had a hard time dealing with the death and needed to be hospitalized for exhaustion. Finally, Price allegedly hit rookie safety Mark Barron for sitting in his seat during a meeting and was sent home from minicamp.

It’s time for a little good news and Price might get some this weekend. OneBucSite.com passes along word that his wife Candice Davis Price will be racing for a chance to make the U.S. Olympic Team as a hurdler at the Track & Field trials in Eugene, Oregon. Davis Price will run the 100 meter hurdles, an event that she almost qualified in for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. There’s a preliminary round on Friday and the finals will be run on Saturday night.

The 100 meter hurdles is the same event as Lolo Jones, whose public admission that she’s saving herself for marriage made some members of the Jets decide that she’s the perfect mate for Tim Tebow.
