Since he came into the league, no wide receiver has more all-purpose yardage than Percy Harvin.
Yet, he’s currently only the 63rd highest paid receiver in the NFL.
Last year: 16 games and 87 catches for 967 yards and 6 TDs PLUS 51 rushes for 342 yards and
2 more TDs = 1309 yards, 8 TDs.

wiseguy12, no one is doubting Harvin’s effort. He gives it his all. He had good numbers….for a losing team. But his numbers do not warrant a contract renewal, with TWO years left, when compared to others with much better numbers.

As far as this being about his playing time, agreed, he needs to be on the field more.

But whenever a player says it isn’t about money it’s ALWAYS about money. Players are no more loyal to a team than any other employee of any other company in any other business.

If a rival company offers me more money to do the same thing I’m going to take it. And you would too.

But here again, Harvin’s under contract for two more years. He has no leverage.

Vikings managment : Listen you little p**-ant. We drafted you. We took a big chance on you. We took care of your migraines. You signed a standard 5 year contract that has already made you richer than your fans. You have two years left on it. You ain’t going anywhere. If you don’t wanna play here, fine. You just don’t get paid.

Oh, and another thing. We just drafted your potential replacement who is hungry to prove so if you’re “happy” or not we don’t care. We’ll play without you.

Besides, Percy, you’re not getting much love out there from the fans. They think you’re acting like a tool.

Percy : Well…ahhh…. Where are all these reports coming from? See you in July coach.

I would challange all those that criticize Harvin to watch a game that he has played in. Any game. He has never quit, regardless of the score or situation. He and Peterson give 110% all game every game. He has played through pain and adversity on a number of occassions. Anyone that thinks an athlete can play football with a migrane headache has either never had one or is a complete fool. The offensive playcalling last year was atrociuous. On one single play a professional’s career can end. He has proved his worth give him the playing time and give him the money.

Does anyone else see what happens here?
1. Catch wind of a possible story.
2. Take a WAG at the reason for the story. (example: why is this player upset?)
3. Wait for player to confirm or deny.
4. If player denies, then take another WAG.
5.Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.

Ellard had like 5 TD’s that year and Anderson wasn’t on the team same with Everet but you were close genius.

Dickerson’s 280 yds in the playoff game against the Cowboys CARRIED them to the NFC Championship.

Hey Percy, I am a real fan of yours, and a real Vikings fan. The fact remains, YOU created the drama. If you don’t want people speculating, say it’s about your role, and that you want your buddy Joe Webb to be the QB. And you’re still bitter about the justified treatment that your buddy Randy Moss received. You clearly stated on Twitter that it wasn’t about money, so it’s not hard to come to these conclusions.
