I hoped my man saved some of that Jets money cause it aint looking good for him right now. That being said the Browns, Dolphins, Rams, Colts, Bengals and a half a dozen other teams could use a guy that has great hands and catches TD passes (especially in the red zone-with is crucial). The guy got released from a 2 year prison stint and caught 6 TD’s last year for christ sakes. Guaranteed he plays and probably starts for an NFL team in 2012.

Plax is not good for the locker room. He definitely fueled the Santonio Holmes/Sanchez situation. Just listen how he still chats on the radio. Of course he wants to play for Carolina, no one else wants him.

Burris will catch on somewhere, Injuries usually have teams searching for receivers by week 3. He is a great redzone threat, just a pain in the arse.

The term “diva receiver” is getting used too loosely nowadays. Just because a player had one or two little incidents doesn’t make them a “diva”. And I’m willing to bet the Panthers wouldn’t trade this “diva” for the world. Much respect to Smith and I’m no even a Carolina fan.

I remember being at the Panthers game when they played my Ravens in ’10. The Panthers only highlights of the game were a couple of long runs by Mike Goodson and LaFell catching a bomb and beating Josh Wilson, who usually was excellent that season in coverage. LaFell has the speed and size to be a very good number 2. Receiver opposite Smith. Having Cam Newton as your QB only helps, wouldn’t be surpised if LaFell breaks out this year.

He’s exactly right. They went the big-name veteran WR route a few years ago with Keyshawn Johnson and forgot to develop any young receivers. Steve Smith has grown into a strong leader and excellent teammate.
