Percy Harvin making plans to work out with Christian Ponder

At this point, it seems fair to assume we’re not going to really understand the Percy Harvin situation without crawling around inside his head, John Malkovich style.

First he had “issues”. Then he wanted a trade. Then he was absent. Then he was back, and then baffled by the “crazy reports.”

Now, he’s apparently making plans to work out with Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder during the break before training camp, according to Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com.

Ponder said he was caught off-guard by Harvin’s initial volley on Tuesday, especially in light of their conversations about meeting in Florida, where both spend time in the offseason.

“I haven’t really thought about it,” Ponder said when asked if he was worried about Harvin showing up for training camp. “I just assume that he’ll be here. It’s not my job to handle it. The front office will handle it, and they’re going to do a great job.

“We know that Percy’s a heck of a player and we like being around him and he’s been out here practicing like nothing’s wrong. That’s what we like to see.”

As rapidly as things have changed this week, it’s impossible to handicap how the next month’s going to go. Or whether or when Harvin shows up in Mankato, or where his head will be when he gets there.

If frazier and musgrave can’t get percy more involved in the game plan then they leave town not percy. Percy is game changer and he needs the ball in his hands musgrave. Wake up.

Let’s just wait and see what happens come training camp. Right now it’s all speculation and really weird stories.

Yep. This is all dumb. A great big pile of 24 year old anger and stupidity. I was a very confident idiot when I was 24 too, and I don’t have 1/4 of 1% of this guys talent. As soon as he returns his first kickoff from 8 yards deep in the end zone all the way down the field for a TD vikings fan’s will pretty much have forgotten this ever happened. Good work Leslie F on calming down your young talented player.

Percy dug a hole and he seems to be filling it back up. After the blow-up he has been trying to make things right. Look at the bright side if anyone is capable of such a thing these days…

Since he came into the league, no wide receiver has more all-purpose yardage than Percy Harvin.
Yet, he’s currently only the 63rd highest paid receiver in the NFL.
Last year: 16 games and 87 catches for 967 yards and 6 TDs PLUS 51 rushes for 342 yards and
    2 more TDs = 1309 yards, 8 TDs.

Harvin isn’t even among the top 5 best receivers in his own division. Jordy Nelson > Percy Harvin.
