Regardless if it is a stomp, kick, or whatever, a player can’t give the impression of aggression after the play is over especially, when the opponent is on the ground. I’m not saying it is easy to control the emotions running like they do but, that is just the way it is.

No, Hansworth kicked a guy’s helmet off, then raked his cleats across his face/eyes. Suh rammed a guy’s head into the turf a couple times, then gave it a stomp for good measure.

I’m not saying he wasn’t provoked, or that players don’t try to hurt each other in the pile all the time, but the stomp deserved punishment just because it was so blatant.

The biggest problem I have with the whole situation was his lying on national television about it. He told the cameras that he was simply trying to get up when anyone who saw it or has seen it since knows he was dribbling his head off the turf like a basketball. Then he proceeded to stomp at him.

His ‘stomp’ whiffed. If this we’re baseball, and Suh whiffed on a ball, we wouldn’t be calling his strike a home-run. And Funny how no one noticses how EVERY SINGLE O and D linemen is watching the play go by…..while the dude is driving Suh to the ground.

What amazes me the most about the stomp is that as close as they were watching Suh, they ignored Dietrich-Smith’s pulling Suh to the ground just prior to the stomp. Not to defend the stomp, but I can understand why he got so mad.

and one more thing, if the coach starts crying because somebody shook his hand too hard. i’m sure it’s the double standard that lions fans think it was ok for there team to act like little kids on the field. but then again i guess an 0-16 season will do that for ya? when the lions grow up they might become dangerous, but with suh and swartz i don’t see it happening.

Baker is right. It wasn’t a stomp. That was always overdramatization – the plague of instant news cycles. He kicked the guy. Haynesworth stomped a guy. you can easily see the difference.

Suh’s driving is a major concern, how many NFL players have been in major crashes that injured others? He already has a crash after driving about 95 mph according to witnesses in the car.

Of course nobody mentions or shows the tape of Suh having to leave the field 3 times or so because those punks were untying his shoes. Maybe he shouldn’t have stomped or maybe he shoulda stomped harder

He doesn’t believe he stomped him? I just rewatched the video and before Suh stomped the packer, he drove the guys helmet into the field multiple times. Suh was definitely being dirty.

Or, depending on your perspective, maybe Baker is in denial about the way Suh plays: According to Baker, the infamous Thanksgiving stomp that got Suh suspended for two games wasn’t actually a stomp at all.

I agree totally with Baker. Suh really stepped on vs. stomped Evan Dietrich-Smith. He didn’t even draw blood. He kind of held it up. Had he wanted to, Suh could have really stomped Smith and done some real damage. Suh still maintained a minimal level of control by not seriously hurting the guy that kept untying his shoelaces during scrums.

Hopefully the young man learned a lesson. There are those that lack talent and will resort to cheating and bush league tactics in order to knock you off your game. Take it in stride and just legally kick the bejesus out of their a$$es.

It was more of the fact that he attempted the stomp that propelled this media circus around the whole thing then the actual stomp itself. Because to be perfectly honest that was the most half assed stomp I’ve ever seen, but such is the way in this “politically correct” time we’re in and you’ll see it in how many thumbs down I get
