Karlos Dansby thinks Dolphins’ defense can be great

Karlos Dansby’s optimism is not going away.

A month ago Dansby, the Dolphins’ outside linebacker, said that he thinks the Dolphins are going to the Super Bowl. Now he’s saying that the Dolphins are ready for greatness on defense.

We’ve got a chance to be great,” Dansby told the Sun Sentinel. “We have a chance to be great in this defense. We have enough skill set. We have enough talent. We can make this defense work for us.”

Dansby said the biggest concern he has is that his teammates need to keep working during the time off before training camp.

“You can’t take a long break,” Dansby said. “You’ve got to be able to stay conditioned. You have to be able to stay in shape right now. The way we’re moving right now is the way we’re going to be moving at camp.”

And Dansby thinks the Dolphins will be moving in the regular season like a great team.

    Dear Dansby:

Be quiet and just let your playing do the talking.

I think the Fins offense will suck.

Maybe a decent team 8-8, 9-7, but the Dolphins aren’t ready for a ride to the Superbowl. Dansby has it right though, every player should be that confident, even if I don’t agree with him.

The Dolphins defense will be very good, just like it was last year. It’s the offense the fans still don’t have faith in.

For a guy that doesn’t know that his first name is misspelled….like Carlos instead of Karlos….he should keep his trap shut.

    GREAT DEFENSE….bwaahaahaahaahaa

The keyword in his statement is “can”. Las Vegas has the over/under for the Dolphins at 7 1/2 wins for the 2012 season, which is the same prediction as last year when they only won 6 games
So lets see if Dansby and his team “can” back up his talk with action on the field.

    Madden is always fun!

Another Bart Scott, talks louder than his game.

I guess Dolphins have a tradition now of loud mouth LB’s who suck. The batton was passed down from Chowder to this guy.

He also thinks Darnell Dockett looks great in the shower. Both assertions are wildly incorrect.

It’s nice to have confidence but it also is tiring to hear Karlos and Davis and Smith sell a bunch of wolf tickets only to get embarrassed like they did game one last year at home. I would rather he keep his mouth closed and actually do it!

His coming to camp fat and out of shape last year after getting one of the largest contracts for an ILB the year before shows he is not a leader.

  11. truthhurtstoo says: Jun 25, 2012 7:47 AM

Considering he came into camp overweight last year, I hope he heads his own advise.

says the defensive “leader” who reported to training camp after the lockout last year at 270 pounds.

Didn’t this clown say the same thing last year, right before Brady threw for over 500 yards in the season opener? Hope springs eternal until you play the Patriots.

You play in Miami. You’re always on break.

  15. francheyes says: Jun 25, 2012 8:14 AM

    Karlos Dansby should stop thinking

  16. 69finfan says: Jun 25, 2012 8:28 AM

At least he didn’t guaranty that they will be great and will win the Super Bowl. He left that for another AFC East team.

  17. valentino8100 says: Jun 25, 2012 9:02 AM

I like what I saw on the defensive side of the ball last year. Time will tell how they do in their new scheme. I feel safe in saying that they will have to be great on defense if they plan on winning more than 4 games.

So to do that you need home wins to do that you need fans in the seats but if you kick fans out for signs that say 1-9 @ home make me sick

I remember that game. Henne passsed for 416 yards, rushed for 59 more and a TD, all against the Pats vaunted D.

Until the Pats build a D anybody respects, they will never win another Super Bowl, no matter how many points Brady puts up, so keep flapping your gums.

Lets face it no one pays attention to the facts. Dolphins at in every game even with a garbage coach. That well be the difference a good team well become great this year under Philbin. All you haters will Choke on your own tongues

Get your buddie Sean Smith and Vontae Davis to play like they are capable of and you might be right. I’ve seen Sean Smith drop 5 int’s in one game. Thrown right to his hands.

How about you just focus on being in shape for the start of the season Karl’s?

Speaking of gum- flapping, this article is about the dolphins D, not Henne(who doesn’t play there anymore) or the Pat’s D. But, since you brought it up, the Pats just came within a couple of plays of winning last yrs SB, dumbass. That’s when Brady only put up 17 and the D only gave up 19. Just an idiotic statement. Keep dreaming fins fan, at least while everyone’s 0-0.

The good news is the world will be able to see first hand what a joke this organization is this summer on Hard Knocks. Enjoy OchoCinco, you will despise him by the bye week. The best thing about the Dolphins is Tannehill’s wife!

but they didn’t win the SB…close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades

What are Dolphins fans doing even mentioning the the Super Bowl? This isn’t 1972, that was FORTY YEARS AGO!!!!

  27. jdm047 says: Jun 25, 2012 2:37 PM

You people need to relax over there. Karlos Dansby can say whatever he wants, he’s the best LB in the league. AS for the best TEAM in the league the Dolphins, our offense will be an upgrade this year with Philbin and Sherman calling the shots. AS for the defense, Coyle will make make this D better than it was last year. Deff going 11-5 this year.

  28. tedmurph says: Jun 25, 2012 10:34 PM

Yeah, Pats didn’t win the SB, but they got there, for the 5th time in 10 yrs. Getting to the SB means you’re good, win or lose. fins have been to the playoffs 1x since 2001, and got blown out. To get to a SB a team needs good ownership, a top QB and a top HC. fins are 0-2-1 on that. Keep dreaming, mouthbreathers. Talk to me when the div is not a walkover for the Pats
