I tuned in to The Late Show With David Letterman at 11:35 p.m. ET, planning to watch Drew Brees’ appearance, and then to post anything new or different he might say, after spending pretty much the whole day saying all sorts of things to all sorts of folks.
But when Dave announced the guests, Drew’s name was mentioned. LeBron James, yes. Drew Brees, no.
As it turns out, Drew has been bumped to Thursday. And so he’ll head to Philly on Wednesday for his grievance hearing before Richard Burbank, and then Drew will return to New York for Thursday’s show.
Unless he gets bumped again.
UPDATE 12:05 a.m. ET: He apparently won’t get bumped. Brees writes on his Twitter feed that he taped the show today. Hopefully he won’t sign his new contract before Thursday night.

Brees needs to shut up and think about football instead of going on TV with this gap-toothed bastard.

Even Letterman is sick of Drew’s whiny, victim bs. And he knows the rest of America is too.
Letterman’s a Colts fan so I doubt he likes Brees too much.
When did u ever get the impression that any late night show is live? Just cause the name says late night ?
This has got to be due to a conspiracy by the NFL office! Further, Letterman is being kept quiet about the bump for fear of being suspended by Goodell.
