Flacco deserves a new contract, but nothing like what he, and apparently Ray Rice, thinks he deserves. If Flacco gets a big contract, he should give a significant amount of it to the defense and Rice, because they are the reason the Ravens won most of their games last year, not him. The Ravens often win in spite of Flacco, not because of him.

When asked if he thinks he is one of the best QB’s in the league how do you want him to respond? “Uhhh I think I’m kinda like OK I guess, maybe one of the top 20 or so” How bad would you be blasting him if he said that? He has confidence and he knows he can be great… there is NOTHING wrong with that.

Also can this noise about the “31st ranked Defense” please go away. New England was ranked 31st in “Yards allowed” and 15th in “points allowed” meaning they give up a lot of “garbage yards.” Examples
Gave up 504 yards in a blowout win against Oakland
Gave up 466 In a blowout of Philly
Gave up 470 when they beat the Chargers by 3 scores
gave up 488 crushing Miami in week 1 same Miami team got 374 in a closer game week 16
Gave up 334 to KC, while that is not a lot KC only scored 3 points in the game.
I said before the AFC championship game that D is FAR better than people give them credit for, when you offense scores 40 points a game your D is going to give up some yards. In the same respect when your D is dominant your offensive stats will be lower (taking less chances, running the clock more) which is the case with Flacco… no flash just wins.

And the Pats D did actually win them that game pretty much. RR also needs to remember that HIS defense was responsible for their only win against the Pats in the 09 playoffs. If TB ever put up a performance like Flacco’s 4/10 that day, his team (since about 07) would get “blowed out” (thanks Emmitt). You can’t base your ranking of a QB on one playoff game that he carried his weight in.

I’m sure Ray Rice’s 2 TD runs of 75+ yards played a pretty big part in that playoff win, so idk what you’re smoking if you think the defense single handedly won that game for Baltimore.

Not to mention Brady gets to beat up on lowly defenses like Buffalo and Miami each and every year, so is it really a surprise that he’s struggled in the playoffs as of late? I don’t think anyone would be calling Brady a god if he had to play Pittsburgh, Cincy, and yes even Cleveland for a total of 6 (usually more) games a year.

Amazing! !!!! Joe didn’t outplay Brady, he outplayed the 31st ranked Defense, but yet when he squeaks past the 2nd ranked Houston defense, everyone says T.J Yates outplayed him…….In you peoples eyes, Flacco will never do anything right. I hope when he wins, he pulls an Iverson and curses all you haters out!!!!!!

Joe Flacco is way better than most of you people give him credit for. I don’t understand all the hate for this kid. Dude took control of that team as a rookie and has kept the team relevant all the while.

Keep it up, Joe. As all those old farts on your defense start to retire, my money is on you to keep your team in the playoffs, proving once and for all that you are as good as your W column suggests.

Yes the ravens d is better than the pats but the pats d was playing very well at the end of the season. Pats d looked pretty good against a team that just beat the steelers…. And what is flacco supposed to say “I’m the 9th or 10th best qb in the league.” Every answer to that question can get twisted around by the media just as much as it currently is

The reason he outplayed Brady was because a) Brady was having a bad game b) the Ravens defense is filled with all-pros while the Patriots offense is filled with practice squad guys.

except Flacco doesn’t play against Tome Brady. He played against the NE secondary, or lack there of. And Tom Brady was going against the Ravens front 7. Not that impressive to out play Brady that game. Although ill admit just as Brady did: Brady sucked that game.
