The team announced on Wednesday a variety of incentives for the Week One home game against the Panthers and Cam Newton. The measures, via BayNews9.com, include free parking in select lots, a 50-percent discount on concessions, and a commemorative Ronde Barber gym sack.
Barber, a 16-year veteran, will be starting his 200th consecutive game on September 9.
Tickets to the Week One game go on sale Friday, and the seats can be purchased at Buccaneers.com.
The Bucs have struggled for the past several years to sell out Raymond James Stadium. The franchise undoubtedly hopes that a strong turnout for the first game of the regular season will set the right tone for the remaining home dates.

200 games straight as a CB and a SB champion. Well done Ronde. I bet his brother is flabbergasted.
Too bad the Bucs want no part of Cam Newton. Can’t wait for opening day!
Time to tarp the pirate ship
Too bad that team owners and marketing types forget how winning games will fill a stadium.

Autographed Cam Newton photos for the first 10,000 – that should help.
It’s funny how the panthers had no fans til newton came in.
These are some pretty cool ideas.
No doubt they looked at some of the things the Rays do at the Trop for some inspiration
I find it interesting that the Rays go so far beyond what is necessary to reach out to fans in the Tampa Bay area to get them in the door. This is the first such act from the Bucs. For years the Glazers acted like the community owed it to them to come to games.
@Magicbucs,
I’ve been a fan since the Panthers joined the league. I’ve had to witness the 1-15 season in 2001 and the 2-14 season in 2010. But I never wavered… I stuck with them through all of that.
It’s funny how the Bucs STILL have fans with all those empty seats every Sunday. Don’t be mad because Cam owned you guys twice as a rookie.
Why aren’t the Buccaneers tagged in this story?
Commemorative gym sack. Never thought I would see those words together.
Oh you Carolina fans….hows your Super Bowl win again? Oh wait…
The bucs already did this last year on opening day and was a mess. The computers crashed they couldn’t accept
Debit cards and it took a whole quarter to get through the line. So armchairgm9. You should be a real bucs fan before talking crap about the glazers never doing this before
Sad that even after all these moves they’ve made the week one game isn’t selling out. I’ve been a lifetime fan growing up of the Bucs, and would give anything to get a chance to go to one game. People outside of Tampa that are fans are ashamed of you civilians there.
Another fact, for the Panther people commenting, you’re team in the most over hyped team going into this season! Stop trying to sell your team so much because you’re going to fall flat on your fact after they finish 6-10 again.
Free admission to and 1 free dance at the MV for the first 10,000 ticket buyers.
@bucrightoff the Panthers have been in the league since 1995 the Bucs have been around since 1976.
Panthers dont have fans? Even before Newton its not like the team had gone through some long black out streak. For those counting the last blackout was a game against the Bengals in 2002. I watched every down(went to the game against Cincy, Clausens first start) of the 2-14 season so my fan card is safe!
A lot of protecting of people’s favorite team in here…. geesh.
I have always loved the rivalry between the Panthers and the Bucs… and this year will be no different.
FYI: You all look like a bunch of crying babies saying who’s team has more popularity than the other. Like we have any control what so ever making people fill the seats on Sunday… but, you all are bickering about it. That’s funny.
But, if ya’ll want to fight about who has more fans and so forth… I’ve got one there is no denying….. The Bucs have much hotter cheerleaders.
@panthers34 Clausen’s first start in high school maybe. Was he even at ND in 2002?
