you don’t have to be proven guilty to be punished. Ben R of the Steelers wasn’t proven guilty of anything, but he was still suspended.
---------------------
With all due respect...Though I beleive the right call was made in not charging him, the bad press generated for frogging a drunk co-ed in a bar bathroom is still deserving of punishment for bad behavior.

If this was theft or homicide or rape or something yeah I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Or if he didn't get arrested again a week later I'd give Fairley the benefit of the doubt. For the enlightened soul that said it's okay that he allegedly was driving drunk driving too fast and trying to elude police just because he didn't kill anyone is pretty ignorant. Just because he was lucky this time doesn't mean that the next time won't happen. Just ask Donte Stallworth, nuff said.

If it does not fit you must acquit.....

So much for the feel good story Lions....

And the funny thing is they didn't even win anything, now that they are gonna be mediocre.

Why you say?

They really aren't the caliber of the Pats, Giants, Ravens, Pack, 49ers and so....

And now they won't sneak up on anyone.

And with all the drama they have had offseason, along with a coach who really isn't all that....

Don't worry Detroit, maybe the Yankees and Rangers will fall apart...

Hahahahaha

How does four players being arrested 6 times (not even counting Titus Young's indecent which would have gotten him arrested if he worked in any other profession) in one offseason not reflect poorly on the team. 3 of the players involved were very high draft picks ( fairly, leshoure, and young.) So Either the lions front office isnt doing their due diligence or they dont care, either way it reflects poorly on the organization. I agree that pft tends to beat dead horses but it is alarming how many run ins with the law this team has had in a short amount of time (and in the case of fairly being arrested twice in 8 days seems pretty excessive.)

I bet it's real difficult to keep track of the arrests. Just go back through the 80 different posts you guys have written dogging the franchise where you cite each and every arrest in and I'm supremly confident you can keep up. 4 Guys have been arrested in the offseason out of a 90 man roster. While it sickens me that these guys even put themselves in this position, it sickens me worse to read everyday some derogatory post by this website about how the Lions dont have control. How does someone control another entity when they are hundreds of miles apart. This is not a reflection on the Lions, but a reflection of the person commiting the crime. I didnt hear you bashing the Steelers for being out of control when their franchise QB was almost killing himself on a bike and raping a woman.

but it would be a surprise if he were eligible to play in Week One.

Hold on, He has to be proven guilty first (I think he is guilty of at least one of the offenses) but you’re pretty much saying he is guilty until proven innocent.

Guilt or innocence is not the issue, at least in Goodell's mind. He has damaged the NFL brand by being in the news for the wrong reasons.
