Best part of Drew Brees' season was when they were down 17 with less than 30 seconds left to the Rams and were using timeouts to make sure Brees got a TD pass in the game.

I love the Packers, but Clay Matthews being #27 on the list for last season is a joke.

the list is from last year not the entire playing career of Brady. Also, Brady has one of the O-Lines in the league. I'd like to see him perform on the run constantly using his legs. Brady is a great QB in terms of his legacy but not last year. Plus hes becoming the runner up QB with losses in the super bowl. Alot of people seem to forget that.

Why all the hate for Favre? He wanted to get back at Ted Thompson, NOT the fanbase. Jeez.

Lets see Aaron Rodgers put up Favre numbers playing against defenses with the rules of the 90's. Pretty doubtful.

Not to mention with kick off's being errelavant now there must have been a record for possessions starting at the 20, thus leading to probably all the top 5 quarterbacks in passing yards adding on an additional 500-750 yards.

Favre never had that advantage either.

I love the comments saying Rodgers is better then Brees. The Packers D is a lot better then the Siants D. And so what if Brees kept chucking it up to break Marino's record? He also did it with IMHO, is a worse receiver corps then Aaron Rodgers has. Name the #1 Wr on the Siants. The Packers have Driver, Nelson, and about 3 other guys who are good #2s.
Also the Siants barely lost to the 49ers. The Packers got destroyed by the Super Bowl Champs.

Aaron Rodgers voted NFL’s best player by his fellow NFL players! Whatever happened to all those people who were so critcal of Ted Thompson when he let a 36 year old Brett Favre leave in favor of a young Aaron Rodgers?
---
They typify the Packer fanbase by having selective short-term AND long-term memories. But hey whatever right? They can do what they want so long as they own a share in a professional NFL team (sarcasm).

If we're 'projecting' the best players for this year, you gotta have Richard Seymour on there. He battled through injuries and had a UFL coach for a defensive coordinator last year and was still dominant at times.

Not on the list AT ALL? Dude is gonna have a monster 2012 all slim and fit playing in a modern defense. Just watch.

Rodgers and Brees were both one and done in the playoffs while Brady led his team with the worst Patchwork defense I have ever seen to his fifth Super Bowl!!

Brady should have been #2 at worst
----------------------------------------------------------
Im a huge Brady fan and have tremendous respect for what he has done in this league. But,
you can’t ignore the fact that he had the easiest road to the SB in NFL history. he went 13-3 during the season without ever beating a team that finished over .500. the only 2 teams that ended up with a winning record were the Steelers and the giants, and guess what he lost both those games.
then he plays and beats the broncos in the divisional round who were also 8-8 and the Ravens in the AFC championship game which ends up as his only win over a winning team in the entire season. I bet you that has probably never happened before in the history of this game. beat one good team and go to the SB. they were jus never really tested the entire season.

as far as Eli at #31, i would take him over evryone ahead of him except for Rodgers because he is a proven winner and has the heart of a champion.

I watched a few of these episodes on the NFL network and it was brutal to watch... and even harder to figure out why someone is ranked higher than someone else...

My question is ... When they asked each player who was the best player in both leagues in 2012 ... Did they have a list to choose from or were they asked to pick one guy? ... or did they just start rattling off their favorite players... ?

Lists in general are stupid unless it is clear what the criteria is... for example ... How to you compare a quarterback to a nose tackle or a safety to a running back???

Anyone...??

for those of you who think brees should be ahead of rodgers is somewhat amusing. I would like to see how sick rodgers numbers whould be if he got to play 10 out of his 16 games in a climate controlled dome. How would Brees fair playing the majority of his games outside the domes ?

So for the person who says they should look at the whole picture, make sure your picture is also complete.

Rodgers and Brees were both one and done in the playoffs while Brady led his team with the worst Patchwork defense I have ever seen to his fifth Super Bowl!!

Brady should have been #2 at worst

______________

Just thought I'd let you know that one and done means losing the first playoff game you play. Saints beat the Lions 45-28 in the wildcard round....

If you watched Saints games you would know that Brees was taken out of games in the 4th qtr when they had a nice lead.

The only exception was the nationally televised game against ATL that everybody saw when he broke the record.

Rodgers is the best. The scary thing is that he’s yet to enter his prime.

He'll get knocked out before he hits his prime. Too many smash mouth pass rushing defenses in the NFC Central.

Best player LAST SEASON

Can we PLEASE make that distinction to the list. And considering he was voted MVP it’s not remotely surprising most players threw his name out at the top
--------------------
Yeah, it is shocking to see the QB with the highest career passer rating in league history and the highest passer rating in the post season at #1.

Wow, 20 years and only 3 quarterbacks have started for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers is poised to be the best Packer player ever and is deserving of this peer award #1.

Leadership by example, skilled, greatful & humble, shares credit at all times. How refreshing!

I was at his first start at Lambeau in 2008 inter-squad scrimmage, all our fans, as he was booed can you believe that? Honestly, I did not like the pick in 2004, aka fan vs. G.M. I was wrong.
Lucky, but nice when an organization is run like a business with rational decisions opposed to owner's and their emotional/irrational decisions. Insert Jerry Jones/Daniel Snyder, etc.

Thank you Green Bay Packer organization!
