The Jets created a pair of roster spots prior to the start of training camp, releasing tackle Ray Willis and waiving undrafted rookie quarterbac G.J. Kinne.
Willis, a six-year veteran, was signed in May along with Stephon Heyer, in a move that was described as adding veteran insurance behind right tackle Wayne Hunter.
Hunter has done nothing to inspire much confidence, but players such as Willis or Heyer aren’t the answer, either.
