Brian Hartline recovering from appendectomy

Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline was absent for the majority of OTA and minicamp practices due to what was at one point believed to be a strained calf.

But according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Hartline missed spring workouts because he was recovering from an appendectomy. Hartline is expected to be “fine” for training camp.

Hartline quietly could be headed toward a breakout season entering his fourth year in the league. The 25-year-old is in a contract year and, on paper, the Dolphins project to field perhaps the NFL’s poorest wide receiver corps. Hartline could emerge as the cream of that crop.

It sounds like the appendectomy will only be a speed bump in the way of Hartline putting up career-best stats in 2012.

If Hartline is the “cream” of the Dolphins WR crop we have problems. It should be Bess #1, 85 #2, and then Hartline.

Who am I kidding, the Dolphins have problems all over the place. Now I’m depressed.

Can’t wait to see how less body parts translates into foot speed.

A lot of people are hating on the dolphins chances this year, they have an easy schedule and i think will be much improved from last yr with better coaching and Matt Moore being the starter. Im not saying we have a great WR group but I think with all these young guys (Bess, Hartline, Moore, Wallace, Gates) our offense will still be great with a good running game. The addition of 85# I think will work out to. Dam I cant wait for football season! Go Fins and Go Heat!

Make fun of Hartline all you want but the guy is a gritty, gutsy, big effort player!! He’s not afraid to go across the middle and takes some big hits and pops up!!! He’s going to have a big year in this offense!!!

Brian Hartline = OST (ohio state trash). With that said the guy isn’t bad. A number 3 WR at best. He had Marshall on the opposite side who is always doubled teamed and he had just an ok year. I like the easy schedule but we need a speed WR to be our number 1 guy, not Hartline.

The Fins are just lulling everybody into a false sense of security.

I’d like to see him be good as he was at ohio state. Be a pretty solid season if so.
