Favre was better than Rodgers. That franchise had been terrible for a number of years before GB stumbled upon him. Table was set for Mr. Rodgers

Green Bay did not "stumble" upon him. Ron Wolf wanted Favre so bad he gave up a first rounder for a guy that was picked in the 2nd round. In addition, Ron Wolf brought in Mike Holmgren and the Minister of the Defense, Mr. Reggie White. Ron Wolf set up the team and the franchise, not Favre. Give credit where credit is due please.

Mark my words, when the Packers retire Favre's number at a Packer game, the FANS will cheer for him, they will stand up and applaud everything he has done for the city and the franchise. Favre will also admit he made errors in judgement up to his final years and offer an apology to the fans. Just like that all the bad feelings and ill will will be gone.
Yeah we boo'd him off the field when he played for the Vikings... cause we're PACKER fans. Not Viking fans. I cheer for my team and boo the guys wearing a different jersey every time. I don't care how many years you spent on my team. I don't want my team losing to yours ever.

Ahhh yes, the Vikings have a "championship"...an NFL championship in 1969...before losing the last game of the year to Kansas City.

Let us clarify:

Q: When a Viking fan makes a fist and shakes it back and forth at you, what is he doing?

A: Showing you all of the WORLD championship rings he’s won.

Packer fans are idiots! They will welcome him back! Here is what I remember about Favre:
- Lost a Super Bowl
- Abused pain killers
- All time leader in ints
- Playoff choker
- Texted his junk to Jenn Sterger ( which means he probably cheated on her)
- And finally had the ball taken off his hands by a fan running onto the field in Cincinnati!

......................................................................................

Given who you have for a QB, I would be careful who I called idiots and would be cautious about pointing out another player`s shortcomings. Ever noticed how when you are climbing a long set of stairs, for every step you climb it seems like 2 more get added on? As I told you before, you better take the escaltor.

I bet you would. Hey, do whatever feels natural. However, no player goes into the HOF as a memeber of one team. That's not how it works in the NFL.

In other words, Mike Singletary will go into the HOF as a LB, not a Bear or a 49er because he was head coach. Favre will go in as a QB, not as a Packer or a Jet or a Viking. Pure ands simple.

Favre was pissed because the Packers sh!tcanned him in favor of a guy who had not played more than a few quarters.
----------------------------------------------------

Sh!tcanned is an interesting word here. Favre, after years of contemplating retirement, finally calls it quits. Gives a tear-felt retirement speech and the Packers take him serious. Then, several months later, Favre calls them up and says he still wants to play. Once again, the Packers take him at his word, fuel up a jet to fly down to Mississippi to pick him up, only to get another call from Brett saying he wants to stay retired. Once again, the Packers take him at his word and name Aaron Rodgers as the starter.

Then, after months of Rodgers taking snaps with the #1 offense, Favre says he wants to play again....but this time he means it. Now, what are the Packers to do? Should they believe him again or treat this as the boy who cried wolf? Well, they compromised. They told him that if he was serious, if he really meant it this time, he could come in and compete for the starting spot.

If he was the Brett Favre who truly wanted to play, obviously he'd win the starting spot because hey, he's Brett Favre. If he was j@cking the team again, he'd most likely find himself riding the pine. It was his choice. Instead of Favre deciding to accept the challenge, he demanded an immediate release.

So...with those being the facts, who actually gave up on who?

@hounddog50.... C'Mon man.... I post something using the titles of Journey songs and it somehow offends you? Would you like a more serious take on the issue?

Favre has done this to himself. The way he unretired after the Packers had already handed the reins over to Rodgers and just expected the Pack to be ecstatic and welcome him back was ridiculous at best. Favre became such a "me" guy at the end of his career and in his attempt to stick it to the organization he alienated the fans. It will take more than a few kind words in an interview to regain the respect of the fanbase. Joe Montana was a professional as he was moved to KC.. You could tell he felt betrayed by the 9ers organization, but Joe Cool is ALL class.

Was that okay? Maybe if you wrote something out for me and I could copy and paste it.... Huh? Get over yourself.

Favre was pissed because the Packers sh!tcanned him in favor of a guy who had not played more than a few quarters.

He is the ultimate competitor and could not handle being told he wasn't the guy. The Packers told him to retire and move on but he wanted to prove them wrong.

As a Packers fan I see nothing wrong with that. GB needed to give Rodgers a shot because Favre had proven he wouldn't win another championship. He had his chances in the 2000s and couldn't get it done. The team told him to hang it up and he did for a while but his pride got the better of him.

Again I have no problems with that. He went to NYJ and could get it done, he went to MN and couldn't get it done and he quit. The Packers were right and Favre gave it his best shot but couldn't close the deal.

Maybe he now realizes that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy were right in the end. As a fan of the green and gold I know they were right because the proof is in the pudding. Added the 13th Championship and have a shot at another.
