I don’t care what people say about Matt Ryan. I think he is a good QB and so do the football analysts that know what they are talking about. So who cares what fans on PFT think? I remember back when people said Payton Manning couldn’t win a playoff game and he choked every year in January. Right up until the year he won the Super Bowl. Then he was the best QB in football. Not saying Matt Ryan is as good as Peyton, but he is still a good QB despite a bad playoff game.

It’s simple.

Go 9-7 or 10-6 every season, but don’t make playoffs… You’re nothing but a tease, and might as well be last anyway (better draft spots).

They are trapped in mediocre status.

Falcons aren’t a sexy team…they do have some solid players, but they just don’t have the heart and will to move to the next level once playoffs begin…It’s difficult to find true falcon fans in Atlanta because the city is filled with out of town residents from other cities+ Falcons are a reflection of their head coach: conservative and boring

I like how on a topic that has nothing to do with them we get someone who has to insult the Cowboys. True hater.

Anyway Falcons are overlooked because the past 3 postseasons they have 0 wins and the last 2 they were BLOWN OUT THE WATER with the game all but over before the 4th quarter even started.
Not once the last 3 years have they looked like a legit contender.

Oh and they might want to get a QB to push Ryan. For all the hate on Flacco, at least he has progressed as a player. Flacco has been hindered by subpar recievers since he entered the league.

People tend to forget the chaos the Falcons org went thru with the Vick dog scandal and a head coach leaving mid season; they have done a fantastic job of turning around the team and building a perennial playoff team. All 3 teams they lost to in the playoffs were eventual SB reps from the NFC so no shame there, they are on the right track and will breakthru soon.

atlanta fans know it is past time to show our team some tough love. the falcons (and the other pro teams in this city) have for too long appeared to be satisfied with a B+ at the end of the season. show us you mean business, boys. until then, no one is giving you credit for anything.

The Falcons deserve to be overlooked. They are a team like the Cowgirls which looks all pretty in the regular season and suddenly turns into Mimi (Drew Carey Show) in the playoffs. The Falcons have looked dreadful in the playoffs and their quarterback is one of the reasons and their play calling is suspect.

It’s time now to move the Falcons down to the second level – pretenders looking up. When they can start winning playoff games in successive seasons, then they can be considered “elite”.

Well being 9-7 means a winning season so let’s not get too excited about just saying “they had a winning season”. That’s hardly exceptional.

I think the reason is HOW they’re losing after that season.

Green Bay DESTROYED them, at HOME.

People don’t forget things like that and it takes quite a bit of luster off the “winning season” just prior.

Um…have you seen their last 2 playoff games?

They’ve been outscored 23- 72 in them. And the score wasn’t even an indicator of how easily they were handled in those games.

They’re not overlooked, just not taken seriously. Nor should they be until they prove they can beat elite teams.

Matt Ryan at age 27 is playoff winless and Mike Vick was 22 years old when he won his first playoff win vs Green Bay, giving Green Bay their first playoff loss in NFL History in Lambeau.

They are not overlooked, they just have the biggest CHOKE in playoff history.

Its been 8 seasons since their last playoff win. What’s good about that?

Joe Flacco at 30 million with 5 playoff wins, 2 championship games, is a far better bargain than 72 million and 0-3 in the playoffs.
