APBills center Eric Wood was lost for the season with a torn ACL on November 13, but he says any problems with his knee are long behind him.
“I feel great. I’m in great shape,” Wood told the Buffalo News. “Obviously I haven’t tested it in any practice or anything, but a lot of that is just being cautious. We don’t want to do anything now that’ll set me back. The goal is to be back for the first game. I trust the guys in the training room to get me back to that.”
Wood said he expects to be at full speed when training camp opens.
“I’ve done full speed running and full speed drills on my own, so when I do get going, it won’t be like I’m out there working at 80 percent, hopefully I’ll be working at 100 percent,” he said.
Wood’s injury in the ninth game was one of many things that went wrong for the Bills in the second half of the 2011 season. Getting him back and healthy is one of the many reasons there’s optimism in Buffalo this year.

that’s good to hear
dude would be a beast….if he could stay healthy
he’s a good football player, but he’s gotta stay healthy for the whole year before he’s “great” in my opinion. I’m rooting for him.
Hes already a beast, hes already great. The fact that a guy recklessly jumps on his leg and breaks it is not his fault – Same with the ACL injury – Not his fault.
What should he do to “stay healthy?” Not play as hard? Be more cautious of guys falling on him from behind? Is that really what separates him from greatness?
Would like to see him play all 16 game. Would also like to never see Andy Levitre try shot-gun snaps again.
