On the off chance that you are planning your activities for October 7 on this summer Friday, we’ve got a bit of news that could impact how your day shapes out.

The Vikings and Titans were scheduled to play their Week Five game at noon CT, but the NFL announced Friday that the game will be pushed back to the newly adopted 3:25 PM CT slot. The reason for the change is a conflict with the Twin Cities Marathon, which will be run that morning and will start near the Metrodome. The move is being made to alleviate difficulties getting to the game for fans.

Unless there are other changes to the Vikings schedule, it will be their only late afternoon kickoff at home this season. They will host one Thursday night game against Tampa and the rest of their home schedule will be noon kickoffs.

The move costs the Titans three hours or so of prep time for a Thursday night game of their own. They will host the Steelers at LP Field on October 11, so the change of time makes a quick turnaround even faster for Mike Munchak’s club.

With games against Jacksonville and Indy to start the year, the Vikes better come into this game with at least 1 win! Else… ANOTHER long year for us purple fans.
