When it comes to signing contracts, the word “close” might be the most overused in the language. A deal’s either done or not, and relative language is often deceiving in a concrete world.
But Colts owner Jim Irsay’s at it again, declaring on Twitter he’s “close” on Andrew Luck’s contract.
Of course, it was two weeks ago when he similarly declared such progress.
We’ll see if it means anything this time, or whether we just wait for him to eventually be right, as they all are.
