Eagles say Dion Lewis understands “serious nature” of arrest

Dion-Lewis-Mugshot-Eagles

Eagles running back Dion Lewis faces a felony charge after allegedly pulling a fire alarm at an Albany hotel over the weekend.  In response, the team apparently has read him the proverbial riot act.

“We are aware of the incident involving Dion Lewis over the weekend in Albany and have since spoken to Dion and his representatives about it,” the Eagles said in a statement.  “They have a good understanding of the serious nature of this matter and understand the embarrassment it caused to not only himself, but the entire organization.  Because it is a pending legal matter, we will have no further comment at this point.”

Lewis and his older brother allegedly pulled the alarm after finding that the doors to the hotel lobby were locked.  Both allegedly were drunk.

Seems the league needs to have a NFL Vet”refresher” Symposium.

How can (or why would) two people pull a fire alarm – wouldn’t one pull do the trick? Were they THAT drunk?
It looks like his brother is still locked up, does that mean he was the one that pulled it?

Im sure he does, half of his colleagues have been arrested at some point. Im sure he probably understands “serious nature of hiring a good attorney” to get him off, too.

Gotta love these guys……i mean i havent pulled a fire alarm since 7th grade……

So if they were locked out of the hotel how did they pull a fire alarm? The hotel has fire alarms outside of the hotel?

And ‘new’ Eagles backup RB Chris Polk and primary KR Brandon Boykin just breathed a little easier…………

I would build my team with guys who “understood the serious nature” BEFORE they did it, not after.

Oh, at first i thought it said “pulling a firearm.” Pulling a fire alarm? Eh, who cares.

As an Eagles fan, Im pissed. Another stupid move by a supposed adult that has no idea what living in the real world is all about.

Get a few arrests as a marginal pro football player, and you might find yourself black listed from any team ever signing you.

Then you take your half completed bachelors degree in athletics, and go make $50k a year like a normal person.

Im a big fan of guys like Koy Detmer. The guy drove a piece of junk, had 1 outfit per season that met the dress code for away games, and was very frugal in his lifestyle. He will live happy and healthy for the rest of his life, even though he only started a couple of games over a decade of football.

Then other athletes with a ton of potential do stupid things, and get booted. Serves them right though.

Does anyone know that pays any attention to that other professional sport called “baseball” what the arrest record incident rate is for that sport?
Is it comparable to the NFL?

Dion may be looking for work soon, probably not as a fireman.

I live in Albany, first off, he can afford a nicer hotel, second of all, let this be a disclaimer to NFL teams, dont sign anyone out of Albany, if you want to know why, come check out our “beautiful city”

Ill bet the fire department that had to show up at 3 in the morning cares.

Especially if they were volunteers. Poor guys get pulled out of bed for a couple of drunken idiots. I would be upset at the bare minimum lol

Either that or the brother agreed to be the fall guy for BOTH of them pulling the alarm since Dion is the “star”. Celebs do this all the time when they crash their cars driving drunk. “My assistant was DRIVING!”.
