300k for child support is obnoxious. I love how everyone piles on the men. What about the gold digger who made the dumb decision to bed down with a pro athlete in his prime? Yeah that always works out! 5k a year is plenty to raise a kid on. 300k is out of this world.

That was hardly a “fight”. I’ve seen women slap harder than those two divas did to each other. Sadly, that was the hardest Deion ever hit opposing players all year.

Not if they have kids, since the system is set up to wring them dry if they do.

What typically happens is that a guy like Rison, while making $3M a year, can get hit with exhorbitant child support payments, like ten or even twenty thousand dollars a month. Stop and think about how ridiculous that is.

Then when he’s no longer playing he’ll try to get a reduction. More than likely the court will say no as long as he has assets. Rison has a million dollars left in savings? Pay the woman $20,000 a month out of that. Then when that money runs out they tell him to sell his house and his cars.

Then when they finally have every penny he’s ever made and the bills start piling up, he’s “irresponsible” and a criminal.

We all know what a mess the child support system is in the United States. Don’t take it out on Rison.

I think this is the pension plan that he would fall under – that would be about 45K annually once he turns 55.

◦The benefit news gets even better with the increase in pension under the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle NFL Player Retirement Plan . Players with three or more Credited Seasons are eligible to receive a pension, generally beginning at age 55. Beginning with the 1998 Credited Season, a player gets a benefit credit of $470 for each Credited Season he earns. As a result, a player with eight Credited Seasons from 2000 through 2007 will get $3,760 per month at age 55. Obviously, players with more Credited Seasons will see their pensions increase even more.

yeah i would like to know more about the NFL pension program. Im pretty sure most of these guys make at least 300k from that on an annual basis. So when ppl like this guy and TO claim broke i think its still a relative term. Maybe they have to go bankrupt to cover there outstanding Lambo payments and 10 houses but im sure they still have the means to live a more than upper middle class lifestyle.

I agree with the fact that the USA has the largest incarceration rate in the world, but we all know it’s because they put drug users in the pen, as opposed to scum buckets like this.

Putting him in prison would at the very least send a message to others like him.

The message right now is all wrong.

@jacun2000…what the regular 9 to 5 working man is told to pay and what a professional athlete is told to pay are on different planets, and can’t even be compaired even after football these guys are asked to pay stupid amounts of money, how much does a kid really need is the question I know regular 9 to 5 dudes married with kids and they come off way cheaper than a guy that pays child support.

I know regular hard working men who have paid child support for 18 years and were never even late on a single payment. They went with a large chunk so they could be a good parent. This guy should be in jail for just being an idiot.
