Drew Brees doesn’t play well in cold or wet winter weather? He played at Purdue. just because the saints lost to chicago in 2006 doesn’t mean he doesn’t play well. every dome team plays better in a dome.

Two words – John Elway. He could relate to Manning on a level that nobody else could. HOF QB in the twilight of his career looking for a ring or two to go out on a high note. Elway knows what that requires. They also have a defense that is pretty good and is improving, a defensive-minded, player-friendly head coach, an offensive coordinator who is able to adapt an offense to accommodate even a BAD quarterback’s skill set, a strong running game, a good, young and improving offensive line, a city with great weather (seriously, anyone that says Denver is a “cold-weather” is insane), good friends in Todd Helton and Brandon Stokley who have made Denver their home for several years, the Rocky Mountains, the great outdoors…

Of course, after he paid $25M to a player who was still recovering from a possible career-ending, the prices for everything in the stadium would have went up. Pass through costs. Gotta love it.

An agent “leaking” this info now that the Brees negotiations have stalled is laughable and quite douchey and questionable.

That “$25″ number could have had so many strings attached to it that who knows what the real number was. I am sure that the Saints yawned when they had that brought up in the negotiations.

Jerry Jones…yes; Bud Adams….highly unlikely even with the optics.

All the Saints can do is sit and wait or give in. I don’t think that they or most teams in the NFL have a legit plan B.

I think it’s pretty ridiculous that the Ravens didn’t take a serious run at Manning.
Imagining that team with him is a scary thought. (As opposed to Joe “I guess if we win I had nothing to do with it” Flacco.)

Brees is too short to get over 20 million a year.

Brees production will be down without Payton holding the clipboard and Gregg Williams taking out knee caps on the other side of the ball.

I don’t get why Brees is getting crucified on here. Look, I dislike him and every other member of the 2009 Saints that stole a Super Bowl from me. However, if Brees thinks he’s worth more than 19 million a year, let him test the market, or pony up the money. If the Saints don’t give him 20 million, 20 other teams may or will. Teams spend crazy money in free agency and Brees would get closer to 25 than 20 million. All it takes it one team who thinks they are a QB away from the Super Bowl.

Bud could have gotten a good deal in Houston but he burned too many bridges and alienated too many people over the years. It hurt losing the Oilers, but I think Houston will win a Super Bowl before the Titans. Plus Texans owner Bob McNair is a first class guy who represents the city well.

Peyton has always had a lot of respect for Jeff Fisher. I’m sure seeing the way Bud Adams took over head coaching duties (picking the starting quarterback, etc.) raised countless red flags.

I like Brees a lot. I have even defended most of what he has said but this is getting redonkulous. 20 mil a season in pay alone is plenty. Take the bag of money. Drew your reputation isn’t worth the couple extra mil, that in addition will cost your team a good player down the line.
