Do some research. Cap number this year is under $11M, so they just picked up $6M. Ticket prices won’t go up because of this, they’ll go up because Benson will want more money. To all those with the highly original “good luck signing free agents”, most of the key players are wrapped up for at least of a couple of years. The big year is 2015 for the salary cap. I’ll take three more years of 13+ wins and playoff runs and a Super Bowl or two followed by a couple of 4-12 years for five years at .500 or so. I’m sure you all know more about the Saints roster/salary cap situation and would be a better NFL GM than Mickey Loomis, but we stuck with him.

Although Rodgers is signed through 2014 next yr Matthews,Raji & Jennings will be FA. Those guys will be ballin this yr b/c it’s a contract yr. Packers should at least give Rodgers another 2M this yr & then sign him to an extension 6 yr contract for about 22M the first yr @ by ur 6 he’d make about 18m which would take him to 2020. He’d be about 36 yrs old have at least 3 SB rings retire & enjoy life

I don’t know where you get this stat from but it’s horribly inaccurate. I’ve watched every game and no way they completed 102 screens.

Rodgers has the same agent as Drew and Heck I’m smiling he’s gonna rape the packers cap. I also wonder how many tds would Graham Harrell step right in and toss in that system.

MAtthew stafford is a team first player. He reworked his cap number to 650,000 to help make room to sign other players. (notice i said cap number i understand with bonuses he got more) He will get a big payday if he stays healthy and can produce similiar numbers down the stretch. but i dont see him pulling this fiasco that brees did. This is greed and this is why sports are going to out sell themselves. Ticket prices are already outrageous and it’s only to get worse. Awesome! Though it seems like my salary never goes up and I protect and serve. This guy cries because he throws a football and someone has to pay for his 3 houses. Lol football has gotten worse over the years between greedy players and a sickening management who doesnt even care about players with brain damage.

Glad to have him under contract. I agree him being the highest paid wont last long but he does deserve it. Stafford and Newton are no where near ready in their careers to ask for a contract like that. Bring on the season

@slammincamnewton you make all Panthers fans look like blind Cam Newton jock-sniffers and you have no idea what you are talking about when you say JR won’t break the bank for Cam. He made Deangelo Williams the highest paid running back at the time of his contract. He made Jon Beason the highest paid MLB at the time of his contract. He made Charles Johnson the highest paid DE, with him getting paid $30MM last year alone. Chris Gamble has been paid as a top 5 corner for as long as I can remember. Even Jake Delhomme got a huge extension. Make jokes all you want about how smart the deals are, but JR pays his players very well. Peppers got an offer to be paid the highest of any defensive player in history but wanted to leave anyway.

You can bet your bottom dollar that in 3 years, when it’s time for Cam to be paid, he will be the highest paid player in league history and his deal will blow this one out of the water. Probably to the tune of 5 years, $130,000,000. Bank on that.
